Nintendo is to showcase the GBA2 at the next E3, which takes place in mid-May.

It has been revealed that Nintendo plan to show off the GBA2 at the next E3, which begins May 17th. The unit will apparently have a large high-quality back-lit screen, as well as analogue controls.

With the emergence of the GBA2 fans may be wondering, "what's the point of the DS?" Well apparently at E3 Nintendo will be showing off software that will make the DS more like a PDA.

According to Spong the new GBA2 will be based around the GameCube hardware, but that seems like a bit of a jump from the GBA. Still, more will be seen in May.

(Sorry if this has been mentioned in the similar posts down below)

Well well, I for one am a bit dissapointed with this.

EDIT: Although, the article has been taken from Spong.....hmmmm

Releasing a new handheld within a year of the DS. There goes all of their credibility. This BETTER not be confirmed.

Hmmmm.

The Article on SponG is a bit longer and this line seemed to throw it abit

Nintendo staffers have confirmed to SPOnG.com that preliminary hardware will be shown both at the firm’s conference and encased alongside the Nintendo Revolution on the showfloor.

....

"Nintendo staff have confirmed to Spong"

Why haven't they confirmed to anyone else then?

I feel ashamed for falling for such rubbish

I apologise to you all for posting this.

To be honest it sounds like complete ballicks to me. Why would Nintendo turn the DS into a PDA? They've been hailing it as a revulotion in gaming. Turning it inot a PDA would just be completely ridicilous and nonsensical.

It really sounds like a rumour to me. I remember Nintendo saying that originally they were planning a portable GC, which turned into the GBA, and a portable N64, which turned into the DS.

I'm not sure to be honest.

I read the article on c ube-europe and posted it here, then realised it was taken from Spong.

Rumour or not, it's interesting news, seeing as E3 is so close.
