Being a rock fan, I generally prefer music from the 80s due to the fact that a lot of bands nowadays either pump out weird music, dress like freaks, or both. The 80s stuff sounds more normal and generally better especially NWOBHM (eg Diamond Head, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden) and the bands who evolved from it such as Metallica.

Some 80s pop I will listen to as well, due to the fact that unlike its modern equivalent there are actually real instruments and catchy tunes.

I try to forget the 80's - I was going through puberty at the time.
