In my opinion the final fantasy series has the greates story but the battle system should change. I love them all i find them great.

What is the best rpg series and can final fantasy beat them all

I didnt play it but now i'm starting to regret it... :(

Final Fantasy also rocks!

However in my opinion the old SNES classic 'Secret of Mana'
(from squaresoft) is the best RPG I've played.

It was better than Zelda on the SNES and you could play through it with 2 buddies!

it doesnt have those annoying random fights, thank god.

I dunno if shenmue is an rpg...

Personally, I prefer Shenmue but if you don't want to call that an RPG, then I'd go for the Phantasy Star series

I think that Grandia 2 just about wins for me.
