I have TimeSplitters and enjoy that, and I also have several FPS games on the PC - all of which are centred mainly around a decent one-player game, with online capability if required.
The next one I'm looking forward to is Red Faction (PS2 version) - excellent one-player blasting.
All you do is run around fragging the comp again and again and the satisfaction of it soon wears off. It would be so much better if they they had a storylined 1 player game to keep you busy, but really this is only worth buying if you have loads of friends to play it with. Cause if you have the same 3 friends over, that'll soon become repetitive too. The good thing about the online option on the Dreamcast was that you got to meet different people with different ways of playing and different levels of skill.
I really think it was a mistake for Sony to have these out before the PS2 gets its modem. I'm no fan of Timesplitters personally, but that is the kind of FPS game that keeps you busy along with the likes of Doom and Goldeneye. All had they're problem solving elements like collecting keys or having to do certain things while blasting your way through hordes of enemies. Then once your mates were over, you could goto the multiplayer and have a laugh on that. And thats really what Quake 3 and UT are, FPS with the main game taken out leaving just the multiplayer option.
Have any of you guys played some of the latest games out - quake, unreal etc i'm thinking about a nice little purchase
One other thing this has made me realise is that there's no real indication on these forums that a message reveals a part of a plot some people may not have come across as yet. Do we need some kind of 'plot revealed' indicator?
