My cats are malting loads, and my Mum has been putting the shed hair in the garden for birds to take and make nests out of! Birds - living in cat fur! The world's gone mad, people, on it's head! What next, gorillas living in high-rise flats?

Will that lead to birds growing up with no fear of cats? Oddly, there were a family of blackbirds that nested annually in my parents garden when I was growing up. We could tell they were the same family cos they had a genetic deformity that gave them all a slightly crossed beak. Anyway, one of 'em got caught by my cat Ali 3 times (Ali was an odd cat; he'd leave them alive until he saw Mam was upset that he'd caught a bird, then he'd kill it. I just used to whack him, and he'd let it go). Anyway, this bird lived and subsequently had no fear of our cats. What was VERY weird was that it, and the generations of blackbirds afterward, used to happily hop up to any of the cats in the garden, and the cats left em alone. Strange, strange stuff...
Aah, the irony of it all.
