Bung five of them in the PC, and hey presto, 125 GFLOPS all crunching away. All I have to do is develop a Fortan compiler in C.
And just because it is one of my pet loves: www.find-a-drug.co.uk
Anyway I guess that means welcome aboard AOE.
That will open up a small control panel thing, click the general tab, then type 2072 into the box. Then click save.

For me it is as simple as being able to do good with the hardware that I have. There is no point in just wasting all the spare processing power, if I can make it do something useful, then why not?
If I had nothing better to spend money on then perhaps I would build further computers for just crunching, but that chip I posted a link to does in fact cost $25,000.
People are obsessed with it, I know someone who has 3 computers in his room, 2 are dedicated to SETI and the like.
