pop sucks
> Well pop music used to be Elvis and the Beatles.
Well they are more rock and roll, but early beatles stuff is certainly pop.

It's only changed in the way it has become crap recently

I disagree and were not going to agre on this because i've got a very clear idea of what it is, whereas you just think of it as music in general.
Popular music can be anything
Pop music is as i defined earlier
Pop doesnt mean popular. i see it as a clearly defined genre.
It's a bit different now, it has always constantly changed.
This is why anything in the pop charts is basically pop music, it's not so much a genre as a random collection of songs that people like.

Radio 1 play what is popular, but once again dont presume popular means pop because it doesnt, slipknot are not pop music and they certainly dont fit with what i consider to be pop music and maybe that's it, maybe it is just a personal tag for the music you like but i'm talking generally.
If Slipknot are being played on Radio 1's pop chart it kind of makes them pop y'know.

Popular music is not pop music, slipknot are not pop, they may be popular but they are not pop.
"Popular Music" - a name used originally to describe what sells well.
Here's a good question: what's a Slipknot track if it makes it to the top of the pop charts?
> smile,
I've smiled at many a non-pop song's lyrics.
> light,
Light compared to what? If you normally listen to industrial then most other genre's could be considered 'light' in comparison.
> breezy,
As in speedy? Uplifting? Many forms of music can conjure that up.
> bouncy,
You can bounce/dance to almost anything.
> joyous and infectious and above all else fun,
Oh, just like ANY song someone likes. Even blues is fun to listen to because it makes you feel better.
