Thanks very much, and I would have put this in general chat but i'd rather get some more intelligent opinions. :-D

Gah ha, my bro worked in Levi's over christmas and described it in much the same way, thank god he wasnt permanent staff, hw would have gone postal.
A little tip: Lunchtime will probably turn out to be the high point of your day, so try and work some where with a nice bakery nearby. :-)

and where did that get you in life?

*snort* like the people at PC world know loads about computing. ;) ;) ;)
It was great, i went school, sat in a lesson for half an hour then left to go home and play games...HAHAHAHAHA.
We did other things like absailing and sports. We was also put into groups and taught drill (marching and such like for those who don't know). Other schools were on work experience too so we also made friends.
One day we went to the History Museum or something, that was alright, went in that shelter where it smelt and shook about like it was a real air raid.
Yep, that was so much fun!
Put me off working in a bank. As with all work
experience you end up doing the crud jobs so pick
something which will at least keep you interested
as putting cheques through a microfilm copier everyday
did not for me.
Look at your interests and look for something different
in that area, if you like computers try to get a job at
a webdesign agency for example don't just go and work at
pc world.
That is my advice, for what its worth.

Still, after this long I don't enjoy the computer bits any more, just too tedious - I'm there because the majority of my day is in a spinny chair browsing the net and waiting for customers..
..but yes, generally shop work is bad, and doesn't give you much experience - except the "dealing with retards" practise, but that can be had by approaching most any staff member in a large chain store and asking..well, the time :)
