I heard Heskey might be going to Birmingham so Liverpool can fund a £6m bid for Alan Smith, but there you go - it was only in the 'paper.
A day later, The Mirror also seemed to believe Martin O'Neill will be after Chelsea's mood-swingin', face-pulling Jimmy-Floyd Hasselbaink as their new [/I]No.7[/I]...
I think Liverpool could get Kezman, though. Celtic are apparently about to put in a £3million bid for Heskey (Larsson replacement? ...), and Liverpool are going to want someone else up front that can hold up the ball and score.
And Mexes I'm not sure about. Auxerre are going to put a high price-tag on him seeing as they've just lost his central defensive partner Jean-Alain Boumsong to Rangers. I'm not sure if they'll want to sell him, and I don't know if he'd want to go to Liverpool either. Surely there are better offers out there than that.
Simply because there has already been a great amount of interest in this player from other Premiership clubs - and a good few of those (eg. Arsénal and United) would have more to offer one of Dutch Football's biggest stars than Gerard Houllier could ever DREAM of (something he seems to be doing an awful lot, for a man who should've been gone LONG-before Claudio Ranieri inevitabley leaves Chelski).
But, just what good are these players gonna be to you while Houllier's still in-charge?
Emile Heskey, Harry Kewell, Michael Owen...
Three top-draw players who were a the very-top of their game before they signed for Liverpool (excluding Owen, of course), and now where are they? How well are they doing for this team today?
Why are Liverpool STILL only 4th place (and, some still believe Aston Villa will nick that from right under their noses before this season's over!)?!
Owen's certainly gone downhill under Houllier's control; injury-prone or not. Could the same happen to two (truly) world-class Frenchmen?

Liverpool 1 Man Utd 2
Works both ways my friend and if you want to talk about last season's results then lets, we all know how you Scouse fans like to talk about the past so much :-)

Man United 0 - 1 Liverpool.
Kezman is a FANTASTIC player, although I do love PSV and it'll be sad to see him go. :D Mexes will sure up our defence and Cisse could be Owen's new partner...although then again, I've always been perfectly happy with the Owen and Heskey partnership myself.
And yea i doubt that'll happen with Ferguson, it'll be the same old story again - chase after world class talent for whole of summer, get close to signing him, board get scared of actually having to part with the millions we've got and world class talent goes somewhere else.

What? and give up on buying potential like Biscan, Diao, Traore, Heskey, Smicer!? :)
Foreman - Owen to United? Pffft ... well I guess he'd be an alright replacement for Forlan :)

If United build a decent team this summer I don't see Ruud going anywhere and I think this has already been discussed before Ruud signed an extension to his contract only a few weeks ago. Hopefully Fergie makes some shrewd signings come July rather than going for just young hopefuls.
this being said, they won't come to 'pool though.
He'd be a great signing for us, and if we could just pip Liverpool and Newcastle to fourth then we might just get him.
I have a feeling Van Nistlerooy will go to Real Madrid, with Owen going to Man United. Not saying it would happen though.
