And what do I receive? A poor condition disc with no box, manual or nothing. I've asked politely for him to return my money (plus return item postage fees) and I will happily return the item in the exact same state it was sent to me.
But he protested. I then argued further, saying that what I received was not what he described, and I am entitled to a refund or suitable replacement. Now he is simply ignoring me - evidently hoping I'll just give up.
But no. I've given this guy £20 and I want it back. What else can I do? Is there anything eBay can do? I'm not the most experienced buyer, so any help from knowledgable eBay members would be much appreciated.
Thanks a lot.
Don't take eBay's first reply though, houndthem with mail until they sort it out.
Just thought I should let you know.
you CAN ebay eBay and ask them to get in touch with the member regarding the item as, presumably, he gave his address to sign up to eBay with. At least you actually got the item instead of simply not receiving anything but people false-describing things on eBay is a hazard that is part of being an eBayer.
I dont tend to buy from users with a rating under 90% (everyone is allowed a few mistakes, my rating is only 97.9%. I also usually check for a picture of the item too, which in the case of your item there wasnt.
Live and learn, mate.

That means only 1 in every 20 of his transactions have been pants. And, you should always, always avoid people in places like Hong Kong.
When I went to see this, I noticed the guy's no longer even a registered user.
What a d*ck. It's not as if he'd lose anything returning it to me.
