Sony win hands down. Better consoles, more up to date marketing attracting more gamers, not just kiddies, and definitely a larger variety of gameplay, with better graphics, FMV easily accessible and adding to the enjoyment of games, cheaper products, better peripherals, and a larger userbase.

What do you think?

The Game:

You know the funny thing, Sony have never proved there statisics are true, there have never been that many polygons on the screen at one time, because what SONY didn't take into consideration was the shadowing and moving objects that would be present, so those figures are s.....

"Gamecube has a completely new technology, MoSys RAM. The speed of it is unbelievable, something we noticed when we started throwing more and more data and game logic at the machine. !!!!RAM-speed simply is not an issue for Gamecube.!!! That is a first among the next-gen consoles and a major breakthrough."

Damn I am getting excited!

"Furthermore, Gamecube renders up to eight effects layers to a polygon in a single pass, whereas the PS2 features a multi-pass rendering system. So, for example, Gamecube developers can effectively start with the base geometry (1), add a bump-map to it (3), add a dirt map (4), add a gloss map (5), add a reflection map (6), add a radiosity light map (7) and an effects layer of their choice (8) -- all in a single pass. By contrast, PS2 developers would have to re-render the polygon itself for every pass meaning eight times the work to get the same effect. So essentially PS2 has to render 1,000 polygons eight times over whereas Gamecube only has to render 1,000 polygons once for the same effect."

Yahoo!!! One more for Nintendo!

IGN: Whereas PlayStation 2's CPU and two Vector Units split up the tasks of various graphic procedures, like transformation and lighting, for example, all of this is handled singularly by Gamecube's Flipper chip, which also decompresses textures at a 6:1 ratio. Looks like we'll be seeing bigger games than we thought in the Gamecube thanks to the impressive Decompression Ratio of the 'Flipper' eh lads!

The PlayStation 2 is a raw polygon monster. Everything about its design is constructed in order to push out millions of polygons. Sony claims the console can push 75 million raw polygons per second with absolutely no effects, a meaningless number, as it doesn't apply to actual game environments. The company also alleges that the console can pump out 38 million polygons per second with strictly lighting and no textures applied!

(In comes the sarcasm)

Wow, Playstation really seem to focused on the PS2's GRAPHICAL capabilities!

(No Sarcasm)

If the Gamecube is bound to have better gameplay features than the N64 and Better graphics, the N64 was fine for me, so...the GAMECUBE....

...WILL....BE....GAMING HEAVEN!

WHY ARE YOU ARGUEING OVER THE XBOX?

DIDN'T YOU HEAR THE TROUBLE THAT MICROSOFT ARE HAVING WITH IT, they can't convince the japanese market that it will be any good, infact they have wasted millions trying to advertise on the backs of milk cartoons (no lie), and unsurprisingly they have failed!

STOP ARGUEING OVER SOMETHING WHICH IS GOING TO FAIL, WHETHER ANY OF YOU LIKE IT OR NOT JAPAN HAVE 3/5 OF THE GAMERS IN THE WORLD, AND IF A CONSOLE GETS REJECTED THERE, THEN IT WILL HERE. COMPARED TO MICROSOFT, I NOW LOVE SONY.

STTTOP IT.

Okay, so most gamers are 6-18, if this is the case, which statistically it is, then what makes you think, that any parents are going to buy their kids a £/$300+ X-Box the size of 5 gamecubes, a hard to figure out control-pad and a microsoft name, over...a $200 or below Gamecube with games ranging from Mario and Zelda to Too Human and After dark and a simple pad and cheap-ish games.....

....NOTHING....

For the average Gamer Nintendo will hit the mark, the X-Box might be a great for the IGN people of the FM's of the world, but they don't make up the majority of the industry.....

Nintendo will show a range of games for all ages at E3 from Mario - for the kids to Too Human for the college Boys and Dad.

I just can't see how anyone wont pick a cheap console with great games, a good consumer reputation etc over and X-Box and 'old-hat' PS2....do you know why I can't see it.....CAUSE IT "AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN"
