Lets just wait and see ok, predictions never work, if someone had told me 5 years no make that 9 months ago SEGA were going to make games for Nintendo I probably would have rolled on the floor with laughter. But...... it has happened and now that I have finally got of the floor I can see many mistakes being made in the industry, mostly coming from Microsoft, who have tried to sell the XBox to the Japanese and have failed miserabely.

Every gamer in the world has there favorite company, every gamer in the world has there favorite console, but no gamer in the world knows what is going to happen, and that is the sad truth, I personally wish I could know what was going to happen, but I don't. The Games industry is one of the most unpredictable in the world, companies can lose millions in a day because something didn't sell, I don't want to make predictions for such a market, it is just too easy to get the predictions wrong.

If being a gamer for 13 years has taught me anything, it is that you should expect the unexpected.
You or I can't guess what will happen, as all it will be is a guess, tommorrow Nintendo could can the GC and concentrate on the handheld market, oh yeah that probably won't happen, and yeah Nintendo may hold the Royal Flush in there hands at the moment, but hear those words 'at the moment'

Thanks for reading

Read Digitiser FM.

They love the Xbox as much as you do but they know that it's having problems in Japan. They'll keep you updated!

FM, the public in Japan aren't liking the XBox because they never have liked Microsoft. That is what I read in the FT two days ago, the headline was:

JAPANESE TELL MICROSOFT : YBOX

Where did this impression that the X-Box won't be selling in Japan come from?

Microsoft have recently signed a deal with Japan's largest telecommunications company to provide high speed broadband connectivity for the X-Box. That's going to cost them Millions of dollars to put into place, and that's Japanese money we're talking about, not Microsoft's.

The only reason that X-Box isn't selling well in Japan is that the X-Box isn't currently on the market. But from the Japanese press reports that I've been reading, they are going nuts about it.

Check any Japanese gaming website and you'll see the same thing. I really don't think that the Japanese market is going to be a problem for the X-Box, and I'd really love to know where all these bad reports originate from because I haven't read any yet.

Its the truth, any console has to do well in Japan to stand a chance of success anywhere else. want an example, take the N64 as the biggest, it sold extremely well and still tends to do so in the US, but the Japanese market was the telltale factor of the dying swan(the 64). which at the moment is still meandering around the stage to try and find a nice place to die but every so often a breeze (cbfd) gives it a new place to turn to...

Basically, if Konami is the only major Japanese company develloping for it then it's going down.

It needs support from lots of developers including Capcom (although I think that they have Sega...)

I don't really care. I doesn't affect me as I'm getting Nintendo's colourful duplo brick!

Has anyone heard bill gates talking about the X-box and Sega on Xbox.com?

He mentions Sega for about 10 seconds and the other 3 minutes just bores you to death with a load of propaganda...
