Once Rafa had been persuaded to raise his head out of Peter Crouch's groin, he proceeded to rule himself out of the Michael Owen race.
"For a start, he's faster than me!" said Rafa. Unfortunately, no-one laughed at his joke. Instead, the assembled media simply laughed at Rafa, for he had a £7 million honeysuckle-support sitting next to him.
"No, you see, I really do not need this Owen character. Last season, you see, I had 3 strikers, and that wasn't enough for me. Now, I am selling that guy Baros, so I will have 3 strikers. That is enough for me, cunningly meaning I can complain like a donkey with a thorn in it's schlong when Peter Crouch doesn't, as I expect, score 2 goals a game."
At this point, the media stopped asking any questions, because it was clear the extremely red-cheeked person wanted to be alone with his lamppost of a friend.

I want Mikey back. So does every Liverpool fan.

I'm going to pull your head off, because I don't like your head.
Surely seeing Rooney in the united shirt after he had just carried England through euro 2004 was worse?

...it wasn't Traore, was it?
Always was, always will be.
Personally, considering we bought Crouch for £7mil, and Baros is being touted at between £5-6mil, and he's worth 3 times as much as Crouch, then this is sacrelige.
Likewise - We sold Owen for £8mil; can anyone HONESTLY say that Crouch is worth £1mil less? ..remember, Owen was only sold so cheap because it was the last year of his contract.
I'd welcome him back with open arms; we could afford him, just use the money for the Right-Winger, and put Cisse in that position.
But Baros? Well, he's a lost cause. I'm actually quite disgusted at him and his attitude. This pre-season though, he's shown some great attitude, but I daresay that he'd drift back into his tantrum-state if Rafa dare subbed him after 70mins.

What attitude is this? The one that's seen him not complain EVER about Rafa's bemusing tactics? Are you basing this on one sketchy report that he stormed off after Rafa dropped him for Kewell in the Carling Cup (despite Kewell being awful and Baros being top goal scorer and, I might add, playing better than Morientes) - which Baros and Rafa both denied? Or is it just possibly because he's been a model professional for over a year despite the clouds over his future, got on with training and not complained once about his situation? Saying he's got a 'tantrum-state' is ridiculous.
If anyone's attitude needs sorting, it's Rafas. His approach to Henchoz was awful. Fair enough, if you don't want a player, tell him and get rid. But to blatantly ignore him and send him to train with the reserves?
