Hi,
Is there a free version of visual basic or a 3rd party application which will allow me to program in visual basic. I dont see the point in paying Microsoft money for a language i might not get on with.

you can get a cut-down version of VB5 from microsoft's website

it is complete crap unless you are trying to learn VB

Dunno, Our computing teacher just says C is easier

Why?

I started my programming career in VB.

I am now learning C.

Not C++

But C.

He obviously meant the basics, taken from a book or something.
You can't really "stop" learning more about a programming language, to be honest. There's always something new.

I am starting on C/C++ and PHP now, but VB is an excellent starting block for any programmer imo.

Yuh, that stuff is dead easy to learn, I think you can b a expert in no time at all
