Well what other kind of games are there around to develop on in the future not really many I guess.
Sports - Fifa year in year out - they even brought out Cricket if thats not running low on sport games ideas what is?
History - History? some of you may say. All the games like Age of Empires 2, Caesar, WW2 games all running low on ideas soon, you can't really make up the past can you?
Racing - All you do is go round a track and all they can do in future is update graphics
Fighting - I suppose is one area that may last a long time before the gamers get fed up of constant shooting.
Simulations - Good area, combat flight, The Sims and there is a few intersting Sims coming out this year, this could last long
Well what do you think? will games ave new ideas every now and then? or will be stuck with sequels and copies of others? Well I guess we will never know until the future, crazy business gaming :D
Action / firstperson / 3rdperson / shooter / simulation
that would be good...
*dreamin..g...*
There isn't a plumbing game...
There isn't an Office game...
There isn't a monorail sim, there isn't a 'take the role of the mayor and refurbish this town' game
There are loads fo genres that just need the right sort of team to make the right game...but they are all waiting.
If I had said, which I didn't, that there would be a games in 1998 where you drove around in a Taxi collecting money, compare this to Sonic and Mario and you would have gone BAH! and walked away laughing! But alas, we have crazy taxi, it is all about timing....they'll come...
