Is there anyone on here who owns an Alienware PC?

I was thinking of getting one, but couldn't really afford their prices. Are they really worth it?

On paper they definately sound like the most powerful PC's around, but are they really.

I would never spend more than £200 on a CPU, Hopefully by the time I upgrade next the 3500+ Winchesters are around £150.

Sounds like I made the right choice then.

My Evesham PC is starting to show its age, but it still has a AMDAthlon 64 3400+, 120GB hard drive, and a Ati 9800XT. I haven't had an problems running games yet, but plan to upgrade the motherboard to allow for PCI express, and then the graphics card.

Any suggestions. I was thinking about either the NVidia 6800GT or the ATI equivilent (can't remember what it's exact name is).

Some pretty nice stuff you have in there although i would still want diamond screws, at least your computer should last you quite some time.

The cooling enabled me to clock the FX53 faster than the new FX55, the X800XT PE faster on both counts than the X850XTPE.

I don't intend building a new one for a long long time.

£2500, What the feck have you got in it? Diamond screws??? When did you build it?

I can't imagine paying more than £1500 for a very very good PC, unless i got a hardware renderer :)

I based mine on Alienware's top end system around 5 months back. Was going to be around £3500 to be delivered from Alienware including everything I wanted. Built mine for £2500.

Building is the better option unless you really don't want the hassle.

Yeah, they're far too over priced.
