2 things I'd like to buy:

A *small* keyboard with keys that have a nice quality feel.

A digital signal-receiving tv card, cheap as possible.

Any recommendations for the keyboard, and I don't suppose anyone knows where I can beat £60 for the TV card?

Also, how does normal tv look on a pc monitor, and is there any slim chance the tv card might allow me to bypass the need for a vga box to run consoles on the monitor?

Oh, and while we're here, do you predict tft monitor prices will fall significantly or not over the next 6 months to a year?

Thanks very much.

Yeah, I had a look at it.
Seemed a bit pricey though, after I'd been looking at one for around £60.

Then taka-Q tells me I need to sped £200! *cries*

Hmm...

You need to buy a small adapter that turns the red and white cables into a 3.5mm jack that you can plug straght in to the mic-in on your sound card.

Yeah, I think I've realised the problem... I've connected my PS2 to the PCTV card via the yellow socket on the cable, so no sound is being sent. There seems to be no socket that'll connect the white or red socket of the cable! What cable should I use to connect the PS2 to the PCTV card so that I get sound aswell as the picture?
Cheers, and thanks for the help.

Nope, S-video only send video siganls. Are you sure there isn't a 3.5mm jack that you connect from the card to mic-in on your sound card? This is how most work.

Got my Pinnacle PCTV card this morning. All is well, got TV channels and the PS2 through the composite connection, although there is no sound. Will connecting via an S-video lead solve this?

Also, still having no luck trying to figure out how to connect the PS2 and PC at the same time. Any suggestions?

Thats gunna cost you. The only digital tuner I would trust is the Hauppauge WinTV Nexus-s which is abou £200. Having an LG TV tuner I can tell you it jams my system all the time and is very temprimental compared to my mates Hauppauge WinTV Go.

Well I posted link somewhere in this thread to the Nebular PCI card which is the most feature packed Digital Tv receiver and PVR available (I can vouch for this, being an owner) google it if you dont believe me, compare it to the reviews of the shoddy pinnacle series cards and the not quite upto scratch Aver Tv cards.

This card has got a composite IN port which sort of works but they are currently beavering away at the drivers and have promised to have it fully functional by the end of this month.

(I cant wait to mpg2 all my VHS porn...yay!!) :-) which is the only reason ANYONE would want to convert analogue to digital!!

Got to be digital really, and hopefully something I can easily run a console (and maybe vcr) through.

I was watching the snooker, when terrestrial switches to gardening programmes digital tv is true to the cause! :^)
