One of the sketches that I submitted to ITV has been accepted, has been filmed, and will feature in their new sketch show, "Shoot the Writers".

The series starts in May, my sketch is in episode 3. No doubt when I find out when this will air, I'll let every one know more than once.

So I guess that makes me an official TV Comedy writer. ;o)

This weekend I'm going to a preview screening, to see what they've done with my words. It'll seem so strange to see something I've written performed on a big TV screen.

Isn't Corination Street a comedy?

(That is ITV, right?)

I'm sure the lack of comedy is more about the ITV staff's past choice in shows (avoiding the genre or picking lame ones). No reason why this one can't work...

To be honest, that's a little unfair. I didn't actually post the sketch. I tried to recreate it for real, but it didn't work. What I posted was what really happened in the shop. Oh, and the other sketch, the Charles and Eddie Night one, I knew that wasn't funny. It doesn't work, and it's completely stupid and out of date. That was one of the reasons why I posted it.

This, however, is true. But nonetheless, it's an opportunity, and it's something to go on the writing CV. No longer do I send out other things with 'no previous work published/ broadcast' which is a huge step.

By the way, I make a good geeky extra...

Well done, I guess. If it's anything like those other sketches you posted, then I don't hold much hope for it. After all, can you name a good sketch show in the history of ITV? It's just not a comedy channel.

Well done Meka. Sounds goooooood.

I sent them a sketch and they said that it was the worst drawing of Father Christmas they had ever seen.

Anyway, well done Meka. I'll keep an eye out (I can only spare one as the other will be busy looking at special magazines I expect) and hope that I can pick your one from the show.

In fact can we have a guess Meka's sketch from the show game?
