Welcome to the world of thug life.To succeed in this world, you must be well-rounded,tough individual.Do you have what it takes to step into "The Octogan"?You will spill blood, sweat and tears.Get ready, this is UFC for the Playstation.Imagine a new type of game never seen on a game system yet.Two combatants enter an 8 sided steel cell.Only 1 man will walk out winner. It is basically "anything goes" rules. This is that game,Ultimate Fighting Championship.UWF has a basic concept of 2 people fighting in an octagon cell. The only rules you must follow are;no biting,no eye gouging and no low blows(not that this rule is followed). You can break your opponents' neck, leg or arm with a variety of take downs. There are 3 ways to achieve victory;to knockout your opponent by depleting their energy bar,by making them submit or by a judges' decision, which happens is a decision isn't rendered within the 3 rounds, which consist of 5 minutes each. Also, there can be a draw, where they can't decide. In differnt modes,a draw will count differently. In the Tournament Mode, you and your opponent will both be eliminated. In the Road to the Championship,it counts as a successful title defence. There are 6 different modes.First, comes the Tournament mode.To enter the tournament, you must win a qualifying match. Then comes Road To The Championship mode, where you can defend your UWF title(which you win in the tournament)against up to 16 other fighters. You can create a fighter aswell, but it is not very detailed.By winning Road To The Championship, you can unlock more created wrestler parts. There is also a Multiplayer tournament, where you can play with a friend and an exhibition mode, where can play either a friend or the computer. There is also Big John's Training, where you get to train with the UFC's referee,John McCarthy. The graphics are nothing groundbreaking, but not bad at all.The sounds is also good, with some great voice overs. There are 22 superstars to fight with and many secret characters. The gameplay is easy to grasp and has an easy learning curve. This game is definatly worth your hard earned cash.If you don't have UCF(and the likes are you don't if you are reading this)then buy it today and you'l be very satisfied.I hope you enjoyed my review of Ultimate ighting Championshp for the Playstation.
