OK, Halo (PC) online is great fun and when you get into the right game you can play for aaaaaaages.

But there's one thing that's really really really anoying me about this game...

People are just complete idiots, how are you meant to play when people on your own team kill you because they want your guns?

Every time I play, I'll get the big fuel rod gun, the rocket launcher or the sniper rifle and someone on my own team will just melee attack me from behind so they can have my guns.

It the same with vehicles, people will kill you just so that they can use the banshee instead of you, or they can drive the tank...

It's just annoying.

Love the game, hate 99% of the people playing.

No no no the worst thing about online games is that at the single player offline you kick ass and can total anyone and everything but when you go online you last about 3 seconds before someone destroys you and your ego.

Dunno, I've only played Xbox Halo on the first level. Though on the PC it does seem to be better, mostly because of online play.

Wasn't Halo crappily ported over?!
Don't forget about BF1942 Vietnam or ut2004 being a class above it online.

Is there some sort of voice over IP software that's used with Halo? I've seen it with CoD but only a few servers provide it for free, and only the Yanks seem to use it...

Just been playing Halo demo online (Blood Gulch/CTF) with about 9 other people - all of them decent chaps/chapesses, and it's great fun. Lot's of teamwork and covering fire, and some all out warthog charges.

Sometimes however, players named 'TeamKiller' join, and they live up to their name impecably. Somehow slaughter their entire team in seconds, and then either repeat or leave. Utter a-holes.

Oddly, I joined a game with one other person - he was in a rocket warthog, aiming it at stuff and backflipping. He said to me - 'Hi, I'm just messing about - you do what you want!'. Then he asked me to watchhim backflip his warthog. So I snipered his silly head and ran away.

Surreal but fun. I have to say Halo 2, when it's finally released (finished?!) will be great fun, as long as the levels are good.

I have never had the pleasure of an online game of halo, or even a system link for that manner.

no matter, halo 2 will solve all my problems, even this second head I'm growing.

But on the rare occasion where you play as a team that actually knows the meaning of the word, Halo is excellent fun.

Best team moment online was when a team mate had the flag, but the other team were hunting him down in a Warthog. Me and another from our team (let's call him MC) saw this, so while MC distracted them with gunfire and the flag bearer was doing some last second sidestepping, I aimed a rocket staight at the Warthog, causing it to turn oover and killing its members. Excellent.
