Games shops were obviously the first port of call, Black & White looked tempting in EB, but perhaps I would buy it later.
Nearly bought the new Stereophonics album, and nearly bought the Spagetti Western trilogy on DVD as well.
With a few things on my mind to buy, I headed off for a lovely little games shop, which can be quite expensive, but you can get some really good deals in there too.
In I went... and went to look for the price of Black and White, to see if it was any cheaper. Not much. I had a voucher for EB as well, so it would be cheaper in there.
Then, out of the corner of my eye, I noticed something in the corner of the shop.
The Gameboy section.
A Gameboy Advance. On a shelf.
Imported from Japan.
For sale.
I've been quite worried recently, because a lot of my dreams seem very real. The other day I woke up convinced that we were living in London.
The price of the Gameboy Advance was £100. I had that much.
They had F-Zero for sale as well.
Hang on.
I'm standing in a shop in Swansea, the same one that I accidently stole a processor from all those years back, some regulars may remember, and I have a Gameboy Advance in my hands.
Seconds later, it's in my pocket.
How lucky, is that?
Only problem so far is working out what the menus are in Japanese... most are pretty self explanitory, IE Professional and so on, and I expect it's championship/practise/multiplayer or something...
Haven't read the manual yet mind. :D
Yes, Fzero is similar to the Snes version, and very very playable. It's my favorite GBA game so far, next is Castlevania.
Well done, Grix. A good choice!
I'm going to lose it... I know I am...
Well in that case, just stick on one of those 3rd party accsories! They make the whole thing much more chunkier! lol!
For my GBC I had this thing that went over the screen and could come out and had stero sound speakers that came out to and a light and a anolog stick (that didnt seem to work)........I never used it
The shoulder buttons are used as powerslides... that's all I've worked out so far.
The thing is TINY though... I've seen all the pictures of it, but it's only when you get it in your hands do you realise...
The cartridge is tiny too. I'm going to lose it... I know I am...
There is a shop in Glasgow that may import them, I may take a look!
Does it differ much really from the SNES version?
As in the way the gameplay is and the cars move? Or is it more like the N64 version? Or even, a bit of both?
The second reason for buying it is that I can play all my old games again. Hurrah!
Broke my old Gameboy, much to my distress.
