Purely hypothetical this one:

You have a female friend that you've known for a good number of years (say 5 or more for the sake of this). She's pretty attractive, say a 7 or 8 out of 10. So not a complete stunner, but you wouldn't even need pint to want to make the beast with two backs with her.

Which brings me on to the question:

Would you be able to have "no strings" sex with her. Do you think it would affect your friendship? Bear in mind you're still only going to be mates. No chance of a relationship.

Hmmm, true, but you asked our thoughts, and I've answered. 'Tis just my opinion. :)

It really is a very gender specific question so my initial response would be - Yuck NO!

However, from a female point of view, it is possible but as RoJ said it would depend on her personality.

It would also depend on how clear from the outset the relationship boundries are set. If she expects, on a particular occasion, that you would be leaving somewhere together and at the last minute you change your mind then, yes, it would damage your friendship. Especially if you left with another female.

Not neccesarily (sp?).

You can have sex with someone you're not attracted to. A bit pointless, but if you need a shag....

Maybe. Or, she might want to take it further and more seriouser. (I don't think that's a word..) Of course she just may agree to be your fcuk buddy, but it depends on her personality.

Because sex has reared its head. Therefore, there is attraction and it's not a platonic friendship.

How will it change your friendship? Surely you could still go to the pub/cinema/whatever and still be friends?

Well, If I was already in a relationship, I wouldn't cheat for a start.

If I was single thought, For me, it would fundamentally change the friendship. Other people will disagree, but for me it would. So there. :P

I don't really know, depended on her personality. She might not really mind much or she might want to take it further and not be mates anymore. Something would definitely change I reckon and it wouldn't be like it used to.
