basically i'm looking to expand my music collection and the people below are by no means the only music i listen to, infact the opposite. i know, in some cases diddly squat about them and wanted a bit of guidance from you guys.

these were just the ones i got second hand. i have a £20 voucher from christmas for HMV as well...
so far:
Feeder- Echo Park. 8/10.
initial impressions say that this will be "one of those" albums that is like a fine wine. improves with age. definitely one i will like having listened to it more, but only 4 or 5 songs aren't perfectly good in my opinion.
Blur_ Best of Blur. 7/10.
couple of hits on here i forgot they did. i like the general feel of each song. one that will have to grow on me if i'm going to love it, but quite a few good songs for the meanwhile.
Lightning Seeds- Like You Do. To come.
**anyone know who does, and the title of the song that has the main chorus lines as:
she's so hiiiiiiiiiiiiyiyyiyigh. high above us
as i said, i've got a copy of master of puppets, but i don't really like it at all. there are moments that i think are great, but i guess i don't like the old style rock, long songs and to me a kind of japanese long strum guitar technique.
there you go NY
I'm not sure its enya but somebody told me it was. Its written by Hans Zimmer and Lisa gerrard though (well they did the music for gladiator).
it's a strong voiced women and a kind of african, ethnic feel and then the main bit. hard to describe when i haven't heard it for 10 hours and can't remember it :)

Most of the score from that movie is by Hans Zimmer, he's definately on classic fm a lot..! You could be thinking about 'Now We Are Free'.
sounds like he could be a bit sick :)
i've listened to classic fm as well. there are 2 or 3 songs i need the name of the song AND artist for. anybody know them?
1) The song from Gladiator (movie). i say "the" song, because to me it's the main one. used the most throughout and the most notable.
2) this one you really have to know it. it's this black guy, with long dreads and tiny silver glasses. he just sits on the box and sings, claps and hums beats. there's a film reel effect going over the screen every now and again. it's a bit of singing in a foreign language, but mainly clapping, humming, etc.
thanks.
If you fancy an old man singing blues
He rocks ok. He rocks
i've borrowed master of puppets from a good mate, so that will be rated tomorrow.
