Raikkonen in the right place

Kimi Raikkonen has taken pole position for the Brazilian Grand Prix. It's his second career pole position and he just pipped Da Matta, who has to settle for 2nd.

The times at the top were all pretty close with a few drivers losing out in the crowd. It seems that winning races this season is bad news in qualifying because Salo qualified last in Malaysia and Pizzonia qualified 20th for the Brazilian Grand Prix.

The leaders in the Championship, for the majority, did rather well, with Ralf Schumacher just ahead of Salo, 4th and 5th respectively. Sato has the slight advantage and could be the new Championship leader if he can stay ahead of Ralf and Salo. He starts 3rd.

So, Raikkonen needs to take a win from pole position here to get into the title picture after 2 poor races, none of which were his fault. Da Matta gives Toyota something to cheer about in 2nd. Sato, R Schumacher and Salo are all involved at the top of the Championship, 3rd, 4th and 5th respectively. Baumgartner will be looking for more points in 6th. Montoya will be hoping to finally score some points in 7th and Villeneuve and Ferrari will be encouraged with 8th place.

7th.

Again.

This had better end up more productive than when I ended up 7th in qualifying last time.
