Oh. My. Dear. God.
It destroyed it. It took Street Spirit's greatness, wringed it out, ran over it with a steam roller, thus squeezing every ounce of appeal the original version had, and put it under their name.
Just search for Street Spirit by Darkness to witness it yourself.

"Well, I myself was actually expecting the Darkness to redeem themselves when I found that they had done a cover of Street Spirit.

Alright, alright - easy.
Bladdy 'ell, was simply bringing people's attention to the fact that a cover exists.

I dont like a lot of stuff by the white stripes but I have to say that therir fell in love with a girl was far superior.

here here.
although i've heard 2 versions of "fell in love with a girl" that prove that it's not a bad song, it was just presented in a very bad way by the white shites...
some of the punk covers are awsome though, A-ha's "take on me" as done by Reel Big Fish, "Ghostbusters" by the Mad Caddies is brilliant as well :)

What the hell were you expecting? An 80s glam rock group (in the year 2004) to cover Street Spirit verbatim? Idiot. This topic is about as useful as one saying "ne beatles fanz wot don't liek S Club Juniors? they is crap in here".
