The "General Games Chat" forum, which includes Retro Game Reviews, has been archived and is now read-only. You cannot post here or create a new thread or review on this forum.
There is one prize to be decided at the end of April for the best set of suggestions.
GAMES DON'T COUNT. We aren't looking for a list of games which we don't sell. It's the other stuff we are interested in.
In particular we are looking for PC Software. Not the very expensive stuff. Also PC bits or peripherals.
You can suggest new product ranges which could be of interest to our existing audience: for example our next catalogue includes a Metal Detector.
Make suggestions for our shops, or for items to sell on the internet. Our aim for the shops is "Brimming with Stock and Bristling with Offers". On the internet it's a question of what people will be searching for.
If YOU are thinking of buying something soon, and we don't sell it, then please enter that too.
You know the ones buy prima(i think). They sell loads down at my local game shop and i have bought a few myself. I am currently lookin for a code veronica guide coz i cant find any ammo.
Everyone needs a bit of help sometimes, ok!
Or cheats books even. The big fat ones like "the best playstation cheats ever! part 23"
What about posters i need more posters while i think about it
What about equipment for recreational sports
T-shirts - to do with game related things or mangas
What about collecters items from Star trek, star wars and the simpsons because they are pretty popular
I'm sure they would be popular, you could also sell other toys for kids that would probably do well because thee is a lot of children in this world
Palm Pilots
Palm Downloads
Palm Software
Palm Hardware
etc...
you could also just sell PDA's. which is obviously which this whole post is about. So then how about ukPDA.com now that is a great idea.
Lots of people collect old games and consoles so u could let people trade with each other, again much like ebay do.
Also, BIG unexploited market. Students - the university variety. Many want pc's of some description, but most can't afford anything beond old junk so don't bother. Technology in today's new pc's is well above the needs of a student, who primarily wants something with word processing and other work related capabilities, and preferably internet at a reasonable pace. If you could produce pc's with minimal expense - no flash extras, even a printer - you can copy to disk and used uni computers and printers for that, or find stuff that was in shops a couple of years ago and has since been abandoned in favour of newer stuff, that would be good enough for a student. Keep the price range low, 2 or 3 hundred for the bare necessities in pc/laptop form, you have a potentially huge market, and targetting students at late a-level or university stage with advertising is easy, they're all rounded up by the government for the taking.
Gentlemen, the world is yours.
Gadget shop are especially good for having stuff thats is really quite crap but at the same time is hard to resist buying for a tenner or less...
Also... TV/Movie releated stuff? although athentic props and memerobilia is often kinda expensive, but the same T-Shirt as XXX wore, same Web Cam & movie posters, etc... would be pretty cool... theres the asseenonscreen.com place, which, despite not being up to much, managed to get a mention in a few of the nationals
Equally Video Game related stuff is also bound to be popular... from mini packman games, game'n'watch stuff, the current trend to sell computer game and manga inspired dolls... even computer game posters are bound to sell?
What a better explanation then just ask.
(Im asking)
Rebate is when you get something back out of what you spent, place rebateon some of your items.
I'll move this to the promotions forum when I get a chance.
I don't think The Slammer are anywhere near the scale of Special Reserve, even with their costly promotions. They seem to have been ramping up their business regardless of the cost involved so that they can show strong growth figures, in order to get a new chunk of investment.
Will it end in tears?
As for us, whilst we would like to do ads on worldwide sites there are plenty of UK sites for us to look at first. If you are paying for cost per thousand you have to ensure that almost all people seeing your ads are from the UK.
