My mum = the best

Today she said she would loan me money to prevent me having to take out finance on a car.
It's going to take me bang on 3 years to pay her back and I will have to argue for 1 years free insurance from the dealer, but it's do-able.

I've got to try and scam- I mean borrow about 400 quid from my parents, even though I'm working. Why? I'm on 600 a month, with 600 in the bank. I need about 400 to book up for Thailand within the next couple of weeks. The problem? I also need to buy a 1500 quid DV cam within the next month. I need it for college (can't take their cameras overnight) and I'll be using it to make my "home movies" after I'm finished at college.

I can pay my parents back as soon as I've been paid and I've got the camera, but somehow I don't think they'll be too happy about handing over 400 quid, especially since they had to give me that much and more for me to go on holiday last year (didn't have a job, just some money saved up)

I really didn't see it as a put down, if it was meant to be then... weak!

A cavi isn't my idea of a starter car, it has to be a fiesta or a volvo - is the cavi your old car?

It took me 11 lessons to pass, so it didn't cost too much.

I don't know, it will be something rubbish (affordable) because my parents won't be buying or lending me the cash for a car. Neither of them can drive either so they'll be no help in the way of teaching me - hopefully they will contribute a bit to my uni fees though.

What car you gonna get?

I'm old enough but I'm not getting lessons until next year - I'm spending until then saving for my own car and lessons.
