I have done something VERY bad.......

......My dad has a laptop which he bought 1 year ago, it is worth a staggering £2000. I have a PC and it has a wireless keyboard and mouse, as they are wireless they run by batteries and the other day (while my parents were out)the Keyboard was playing up (batteries low) so because i didn't have any money to get some batteries i just connected the internet to my Laptop. While i was on the Laptop i began to feel thirsty so i got myself a cup of tea, while i was drinking my tea my dog suddenly barked causing me to jump and "WHOOOPY" the tea went all over the Laptop. I s**t myself and ran straight to the kitchen to get a towel, i tried my hardest to dry the laptop but there was still tea inside it so i just packed the Laptop away and pretended nothing had happened. A day after i decided to check whether the Laptop was working and it wasn't, i couldn't open the CD ROM drive, there was a continuious beeping coming from the Laptop and some of the keys weren't working. Now that i know i have broken the laptop i dont wanna tell my dad so im just gonna wait until my dad uses it and act innocent, he has no proof that it was me and he knows i dont usually go on the Laptop so i think im in the clear for now.

Do you think i doing the right thing, if not, what shall i do?

Act innocent all the way, when he goes to use it and it doesnt work you could maybe say he was drunk and spilt something over it and forgot about it because he was so drunk.

My dog + My dad = Dont mix

My dad hates my dog and if i blamed it on him, my dad would get rid of him.

All I can say is- oops. You shouldn't have had a drink next to a laptop anyway. You should wait for it all to dry up, and it may work, though, unless it has dissolved or flooded anything. A normal keyboard can survive a mug of hot coffeee being spilt over it, though. I've experienced it. :)

If you were lucky, it'll only need a quick service to mend any bits that got damaged. Otherwise, hope to God that your parents had insurance, because a major repair may well cost thousands, let alone all of the files you may have wrecked.

Just blame the dog- say that the little mutt knocked over your drink onto the laptop after you had been using it.
