I haven't read any of the posts in this thread but to answer the title. Yes, it has been scientifically proven that without stimulus your mind and body slow down although the only people to die of it that I know of are prisoners who get food and water everyday but just stare at a cell wall all day long. You can only live to about 50 in those conditions.

You can die of someone else's boredom.

I graduated about 8 years ago in Environmental Science.

Believe me woodlice aren't interesting. I really wanted to test if a woodlouse would choose a dark and damp habitat with a fecking great big hairy spider in, or a dry and light one without a fecking great big hairy spider in.
