The who will chelsea sign thread. Cech and robben are already agreed, who will be next, i think we'll sign at least 3 or 4 more.

The cut list:

1.Sullivan
2.Rice pudding Man (although his antics amuse me, so if he does well in the next few weeks i may give him my permission to stay)
3.Babayaro- He's just there
4.Bogarde- Give him a new contract chelsea ! i dare you just to show how rich we are- in case somebody hadn't noticed!
5.Desailly- one of the ones i want out most, one we feel we have to play but needs replacing- Chivu please.
6.Melchiot- I actually want to keep him but i have a strange feeling that he has been told he is goilng already, Shift geremi to reserve right back/utility player.
7.Gronkjaer- the most erratic player on the planet with no possible exceptions, one in ten games he is zidane, figo, ronaldo, beckham, pele et al combined, the remaining 9 games he plays like one of us.
8. Zenden- Didn't want him to go out on loan this season, he has and has been really good, but can't see him competing with Robben on the Left
9. Hate to say it Joe Cole- Really like him, don't think he has been given a fair chance at all, but if we're not going to play him and IF he is unhappy i don't think we should stand in his way.
10. Petit-8 choice
11. Stanic i suppose, like him as a character and appparently he is very popular, but never going to play for us again methinks
12. Hassebaink- jimmy would be snapped up, can probably score 25-30 if he plays every week one careful owner, newcastle call shotgun.
13. Gudjohnsen- Gud money Mutu is better and i can't see gudjohnsen forming a partnership with any of our current strikers.

You've gotta full team there!

GK.Sullivan
LB.Babayaro
CB.Desailly
CB. Melchiot
RB. Stanic
LM. Zenden
RM. Gronkjaer
CM. Joe Cole
CM. Petit
CF. Gudjohnsen
CF.Hasselbaink

That should make the uefa cup!

Ins we need baring in mind my ruthless cutting:
GK -Cech (arranged)
CB -Chivu or somebody similar a strong charcter who is under 25/26
LB -Random Youngster who looks like they have potential but won't want immediate first team football.
-Back up left footer/ top notch young midfielder/ forward in Arjen robben
Right midfield- Valeron/Joaquin this is the only essential signing the need for a right midfielder is glaringly obvious. Beckham if going, doubt it, rather have joaquin in a way as he is younger, but having the england captain and right mid would be pretty cool!

Recall forssell.

Next years team:

Cudicini (cech back up)
Johnson
Gallas\Chivu
Terry
Bridge
Joaquin\Valeron
Lampard
Makalele\parker\veron
Duff (robben when injured or rested)
Forsell\Crespo
mutu\Robben

That would be how my team would look for next season, though you never know what big players might beome available. I feel this would give us a lot more stability and allow the players to thrive.

He's not the weakest. We need him.

What a lie. My goodness this man is a genius. Every 10 games lol... He has terrific pace and talent, but tends to lack consistency and confidence at times. But he needs to stay.

More lies. This guy is 24. He has not yet reached his peak. He just needs to get fit.

Outrageous. Claudio is the only man for the job. Fantastic character.

well put AJ.

Lets face the facts, how many teams were realistcally in with a shot on the league at the start of the season?

3? with maybe 2 outsiders

How many can actually win the league?

1!

what ever happens there will always be 2 disappointed teams, and nothing ordains that it shouldn't be chelsea, chelsea have done very well, and it is propostorous to suggest they should sack rainieri if Man utd had adopted that attidude in 1987 how many titles would they have won?

Absolutely unnecessary. Claudio Ranieri is doing really well right now, and if Abramovich gets rid of him just to get a big name in there, well, frankly, he's an idiot.

sell forssell? madness!!!!!!! he shouldn't have been loaned out this season.

I can understand those who want crespo out, but i think the problem is that we don't have any strikers going long runs, we need to play one of our out and out strikers, either crespo or hasselbaink every game so they can get runs together and gain some form.

Solksjaer with MUTU i think you are absolutely barking mad, you hear the old football cliche of 110%, this man is 120%. I have rarely seen a striker with such a high work rate and 2 good feet.

Gudjohnsen- I want him out really, i really like him think he is a legend but i never feel like we are going to score when he is on the pitch.

Oh solskjaer whats the obsession with gronkjaer? i assume you have just been watching the good games, true he is electric can take on anything but his end product is pretty awful and he doesn't make things work like duff was. Ironically he might be the most crucial player in chelsea's history ever! Had he not scored that goal against liverpool, chelsea might not have got abramovich.

To who ever said get rainieri out, your a muppet.

I think they will go for nedved. They won't go for nesta, as ac milan turned down a bid from chelsea for nesta pre-season (i think he was the first one they bidded for after abramovich took over).

Chivu would be a great signing. but, he is only with his first season with roma. sam applys to ronaldinho (i think someone mentioned him), he is flying with barca, and i dont think he will move to chelsea having turned down man utd. Even ourageous possibilities such as totti, would be a more realistic target, as he has been with roma for a long time. Christian vieri is bound to leave inter at somepoint, so he could be a potential target, especiaally seeming inter are lined up to finally buy Ariano, a stunning young brazillian with a huge prospect and immense talent. As for the midfield, they maybe could do with another central midfielder.

Not the type of roy keane and patrick viera, as they supprot the defence. so, if they do buy a midfielder, they will have to ship around a couple of midfielders each time they buy them. alhough nedved is immensley talented and probably the 2nd best player in europe (behind mr va-va-voom), he is not the sort of player they need. i mean, they already have duff and robben fighting for places down the left flank, so they would be much better off splashing the cash on a right sided middfielder. someone like david beckham. juan carlos valeron would be a great player to have as he has so much talent and masses of potential. joaquin is another one, however, i feel he will need more experience in order to adapt to the play of the premiership. Even someone like jay-jay okocha, someone to flair the team up a bit.

You see, that is the vital elemant that chelsea side lack in order to become a world class side. you need flair, passion, someone playing as hard as they can week-in-week-out.

Therefore, a right sided midfielder and a new striker will be the key requirments of chelsea in order for them to improve, as well as a defender. however, there arent that many decent defenders avaliable on the market. most defenders tend to stay with there clubs for a long time, and thats where abramovich needs to invest into a youth system in order to bring up home grown defenders, as well as other talented players in other positions.

However, before they do any of that, they need to ship out some of their other players.

Emmanuel petit- a great player at his peak, but i am sure even he will admit his chelsea days are limited.

Neil sullivan- well, with cech, cudicini and ambrosio ahead of him, this may not be the right club to improve his career on.

Joe cole- this guy may be good, but simply dosent have world class talent, and will see his chances limited.

Mikael forssell- in my opinion, two of chelseas strikers should leave, and being the weakest, he should be one of them.

J.f. hasselbaink- a great servant of the club, and a close call between him and gudjohnsen to leave. hoever, chelsea need to buy a new striker, and we dont wanting it to get cramped.

jesper gronkjaer- what do ranieri and chelsea see in him? god daamn this guy is awful, and should be banished to the confrence. in all honestly, this guy has no talent.

mario stanic- i dont think this guy will get many oppurtunities and should leave in oprder to progress his career.

Marcel desially- you could say chelsea keeping him would be sympathetic, but i think his time at chelsea, and in fact his career is over.

valerio de ceasere- in all honestly, this guy has good talent, but in order to improve himself, he should depart to a slightly less talented team.

celestine babayaro- the guy has good talent and has reached and pasted his peak, andthereofre time has come to depart.

Boudwinjen (sp?) zenden- i am afraid to say that this player is not up to the standard provided buy other players in the squad. i think he should stay at middlesborough.

claudio ranieri- this guy is a great manager to the club, and a terrfic servant, but to progress the club an new manager should be appointed.

Thanks for reading, as this is what i think chelsea will need to do in order to progrees. oh, and another thing, chelsea need an assistant manager. i know they have one, but no-one has heard of him and even knows his name!

I don't think they need a new manager at all. Raneiri is doing a fine job and even the Chelsea faithful will tell you that.

I think the first person they should sign is a world class manager. And also they should sign players that are going to play week in week out throughout the whole season.

Latest speculation says Vieri is going to Juve if Lippi stays on as coach there.

Although the clubs down there are a lot harsher and this season has been quite a disaster for Juve by their own standards and its hard to see lippi staying. Although at the end of the day Juve ar pretty much the italian equivilent of Man utd this season yet you wont see fergie getting the chop.

As for new signings, despite the obvious size of your squad, I reckon you could do with a few more new faces, ontop of the ones you've already agreed-with for the Summer.

You've got a brilliant goalkeeper and a defence that just seems to keep on looking better, so there's nothing to be done there (very little, even after Desailly's gone). With your midfield, however, there are gaps-to-fill.

For a start Scott Parker is NOT a right-sided player. Just like Frank Lampard and Claude Makelele alongside him, he's a central-man. Gronkjaer would be my first-choice for this job (if I were Chelski manager - which, thank the Heavens, I am not!!). I really don't know why he isn' given a regular place there now... With Duff down the left, and 2 of the aforementioned trio between them, it's all equal.

However, if he is to be sold off in the Summer (and what a mistake that'd be), I can almost guarrentee from pipping United in the race to sign Spanish winger Joaquin (even though, it's also debatable as to whether-or-not we need him, too).

A little tweaking (not tinkering!) could also be done upfront, I feel. Keep Jimmy-Floyd Hasselbaink. Start Eidur Gudjohnsen alongside him in every game. Do not buy-in to the hype surrounding "the potential" of Crespo and Mutu. In Chelsea's case, it's not about what players can do, but what they can do now!

Also, you would benefit from having a Christian Vieri in your squad-list.

Neil Sullivan - Despite be nowhere near as good as many of the other names you could get, he's surely got to a better choice than Ambrosio or another weed-smoking Bosnich as a stand-in for Cudicini?

However, yes, with Cech's arrival I can see him leaving. And, I'm sure he's just be unhappy relegated to third-choice.

Celestine Babayaro - With Wayne Bridge on the scene, Babayaro's got as good a chance of a first-team come-back as Balls-up Zenden. He's still half-decent though...

Winston Bogarde - Heh. I had no idea he was still there!! :D

Jesper Gronkjaer - Selling Gronkjaer would be mad. He's like Damien Duff; only, for the right-wing. He should NOT be sold. His pace has proven useful to you in the past, and it will undoubtabley do the same again. If anything needs to change, he needs a regular first-team place.

Bodo Zenden - Hasn't he signed for 'Boro yet? Surely, that's the best offer he'll be able to get! ;)

Joe Cole - I never saw why you really signed him in the first place. He's a great individual, but has never really found himself at Stamford Bridge. With Makelele, Lampard, Parker, Duff and others, he is, simply, `surplus to requirements´.

Jimmy-Floyd Hasselbaink - Here, we have another man who should NOT be allowed to leave. Hold on to Jimmy; he's a reall asset. He can score goals; create them; take excellent free-kicks... If anyone should be forced out, it's that under-achieving Hernan Crespo. Jimmy still wears No.9 for a very good reason!

Eidur Gudjohnsen - Again, this man should not be allowed to leave, either. Adrian Mutu seems to have lost it, Crespo doesn't always look up-to-scratch - at the moment, Eidur Gudjohnsen is Chelsea's goal-machine. He gets them when give the chance. Whenever they need a goal (...whenever Lampard doesn't, that is).

If you ask me, Ranieri needs to re-ignite the old Hasselbaink-Gudjohnsen partnership that was once working so-well, before the Russian oil-tycoon came along... Mutu and Crespo just haven't been doing it, all-season.
