It's irritating me.
I want to put some data onto a disc, so that I can use it on another computer.

I put a CD-R in, and my disc drives (both of them, each a CD-RW) claim that the disc is completely empty of memory. Like so: http://firestorm.staghosting.com/pic.jpg

Now, I know the disc isn't faulty, as the same happens with 2 different CD-RW's, and, the disc is perfectly fine on that other computer, ie, it detects the the disc has 702mb on it.

So what's going on?
Much help appreciated.

And oh, my drives both work, as I can put games/DVD's and so forth into them, and they work/recognise there's a disc etc. That also reminds me - they both detect that there is a disc.

Thanks.

Well I was trying the integrated XP disc making wizard thing, you know the one.
I drag and drop the files onto the drive I want, I get the copying dialogue (the standard one, as if I were simply moving it to another location on the HDD), and it creates it temporarily. I then click "Write these files to disc" with the CD in, but it claims there isn't a disc/the disc is out of memory.

Muh, this is doing my head in.

Firstly - are you drunk?
Secondly - it's the same with both my drives (yes, I have two).

And Adrian, it was a visual style I installed, I'm sure they were part of it.

Though you probably already know about that.

Off topic but that is a cool look to your OS. How have you got those different icons?

Hmm, how strange.

Are they branded disks?
