Ive seen second hand N64s going for £30, not bad for a console with so many great games. Ild get one, except I already have one.

Unfortunately Dreamcasts cost £60 second hand and the peripherals still cost a load meaning yould have to splash out quite a bit for one...lets hope the price drops further in November when the GameCube and Xbox are released in the US.

It will be a while until a console betters my PC,

You miss the whole point of consoles! A DC "only" has a 200 MHz processor, but there aren't that many PC games that run as fluidly as Soul Calibur. Why is that? Well, when you make a console game, you know every single console of that type will play it- all DCs will play Soul Calibur just as well.

On the other hand, PC's have varying spec, so a game must be able to run on a 300MHz machine with a rubbish graphics card, and a 1 GHz machine with the worlds best graphics card... as a result the 1GHZ processor is not being used to the max.

For this reason the Xbox is NOT a big PC! Far from it, it is exactly like like a DC, but with more powerful everything.. and that can't be a bad thing.

Dont forget people that you have to multiply the processor speed by the amount of bits it can transfer at one time.

So therefore in PC terms (32bit)

the N64s speed is 93 x 2 = 186Mhz (64bit = 2 x 32bit)

the PS2s speed is 300 x 4 = 1200Mhz (128bit = 4 x 32bit)
