.....I wish :(

The appeal has failed and the decision of an 8 Month Ban stands.

Guess we were clutching at straws anyway cause the FA members are all the same despite it saying the appeal will be assesed by an 'Independant Panel' cause two of them are FA Members;they wouldn't want to overule their pals now would they?

8 months still seems harsh to me but I guess that means he'll miss the rest of the season and Euro 2004.

I don't think the FA, themselves, knew what the rules were.

There was all sorts of confusion about this case when it first came up and it dragged on and on whilst the FA consulted rule books and at the same time had to listen to banter from pathetic individuals from Fifa, Uefa and the Athletics Drug Association. I think the FA have acted under pressure from these groups and have been harsh, especially when worser cases have received lesser bans, they have shown themselves as being true cowards.

While i do blame him for forgetting in the first place i also then blame the drug testers who knew they had to test him yet couldn't be bothered to stay at the ground for the time they were meant to for him to come back and take the test. Obviously they had a roast in the oven or something

I tend to agree - what about innocent until proven guilty?

But then, those are the rules, and he did know them before 'forgetting'.

Both sides are at fault, I think.

Once again shouldn't have been banned at all. Just the cowards at the FA crumbling under pressure from outside groups who had no business getting involved.

Be thankful!

Why?

There's one thing the BBC report doesn't mention...

"However, the panel also rejected the Football Association's attempt to get the ban extended to 12 months."
