Arsenal fans might want to check out the Premiership tonight if you haven't managed to catch the game. Good bit of controversy surrounding Friedel and Henry when Brad was going to kick the ball and Henry nicked it off him and put it in the net only for it to be disallowed. Sure that will be talked about for some time to come.

When i saw it the only reason i could think of it being disallowed was that Brad hasn't actually kicked it before Henry nicked it off him and so might have counted as still being in his possession. However as much as i hate Arsenal i must say i really could see nothing wrong with it.

Calling it brilliance though? Don't think so

Well, it was hardly gentlemanly, was it? And as has been put forward several times, when the ball's in the air, it still technically counts as part of the keeper's movement, during which you're not allowed to take the ball.

Well that would have been a mistake from Friedel, as opposed to an ungentlemanly challenge.

That'll teach you never to watch The Premiership again, then, surely (even though you're actually wrong - the ref got it RIGHT!)?!

Rather than getting in some decent, experienced names who don't have a fully-writted, clichéd-to-death script to read off, they have to settle for 'tarded "experts" like Andy Townsed, Robbie Earle and that Scottish Alchoholic.

SkySports is where it's all at (or, where it should be...).

Still, at least Lineker, Hansen, Lawrenson and co. should be back as of next-season...! :D

Heh, I do like Coisty though. I think he's probably one of todays best pundits.

And admittedly, he messed up badly there. Did you notice how he began to stutter and splutter once the actual ruling was read out.
Genius.

Ally McMoist makes me laugh!

They showed the incident several times in replay, then quoted the rules on the screen.

So it was clear for all to see that no rules were infringed.

Ball NOT in keeper's hands. Henry nicks it. Scores. Nothing at all wrong.

And McMoist still insists the ref made the right decision! Comical!

If Friedel had kicked it against Henry and it had rebounded into the goal, it would have been allowed.

And the difference here was...?

Not that it mattered in the end, anyway. But surely another example of why video replays are needed.
