FRANKIE GOES TO HOLLYWOOD
Possibly the most important thing
This side of the world.
Oh yeah, well ard!
You may pronounce us guilty a thousand times over, but the Goddess of the
Eternal Court of History will smile and tear to tatters the brief of the
state prosecutor and the sentence of this court, for She acquits us
Condemn me
Condemn me
Condemn me
History will absolve
Singing "this will be the day that I die".
yeahhhhhaaaa
(If your grandmother or any other member of your
family should die whilst in the shelter,
put them outside, but remember to tag them
first for identification purposes.)
Go to war
Go to war
Go to war
heh
Just think, war breaks out and nobody turns up.
(If any member the family should die whilst in the shelter, put them outside,
but remember to tag them first for identification purposes.)
(If your grandmother or any other member of the family should die whil...
...dentification purposes.)
heh heh
It's enough to make you wonder sometimes if you're on the right planet.
Let's go
*When two tribes go to war
A point is all you can score
When two tribes go to war
A point is all you can score
Cowboy No. 1
A born-again poor man's son
On the air America

*(Repeat)
Working on the black gas
Switch off your shield
Switch off and feel
I'm working on loving-yeah
Giving you back the good times
Ship it out-out
I'm working for the black gas
*(Repeat)
We got two tribes
We got the bomb
We got the bomb-yeah
Sock it to me biscuits-now
Are we living in a land
Where sex and horror are the new Gods?
Yeah
When two tribes go to war
A point is all you can score
> thats what I call good lyrics
Yes, excellent. All Whitesnake. But is it really necessary to post that many?
I'm getting ready
I'm in the mood to fool around
It's time for action
Now the boys are back in town
So turn up the music,
Make it loud and proud
Let's see reaction
Let the spotlight hit the crowd
Don't hide what you feel inside,
Don't let anybody stand in your way,
Just let the music take you higher
Now are you ready to rock,
Children of the night
Are you ready to roll,
Children of the night
You got the power,
I feel your fire in my soul
You got the fever,
'Cos you were born to rock an' roll
Don't run for cover,
I'm gonna show you what I've learned
Just come a little closer,
Come on an' get your fingers burned
Don't hide what you feel inside,
Don't let anybody stand in your way,
Just let the music take you higher.
Now are you ready to rock,
Are you ready to roll,
Are you ready to rock...
Now are you ready to rock,
Children of the night
Are you ready to roll,
Children of the night
I'm getting ready,
I'm in the mood to fool around
It's time for action,
'Cos now the boys are back in town
Don't hide what you feel inside,
Don't let anybody stand in your way,
Just let the music take you higher.
Now are you ready to rock,
Children of the night
Are you ready to roll,
Children of the night
Are you ready to rock,
Children of the night
Are you ready to roll,
Children of the night
Are you ready to rock,
Are you ready to roll,
Children of the night
Just let the music take you higher...
I know you, you know me
I'm the black sheep of the family,
I'm in an' out of trouble
I'm the talk of the town
I get wild in the street
When the sun goes down
I steal around, like a thief in the night
Dancing 'til the break of day
Bad boys,
Running undercover of moonlight
Bad, bad boys,
Getting wild in the street,
Wild in the city
I see you, you see me
Just a black street boy in society
With high-heeled women full of champagne an' lies,
Getting wild in the street
'Til the hot sunrise
Stealing round like a thief in the night
Dancing 'til the break of day
Bad boys,
Running undercover of moonlight
Bad, bad boys,
Getting wild in the street,
Wild in the city,
Wild in the city,
Wild in the city
Bad, bad boys,
Running undercover of moonlight
Bad, bad boys,
Getting wild in the street,
Wild in the city
I know you, you know me
I'm the black sheep of the family,
I'm in an' out of trouble
I'm the talk of the town
I get wild in the street
When the sun goes down
I don't care what the people think,
I can't hear what the people say,
I steal around like a thief in the night
Dancing 'til the break of day
Bad, bad boys,
Running undercover of moonlight
Bad, bad boys,
Getting wild in the street,
Bad, bad, bad boys,
Running undercover of moonlight
Bad, bad boys,
Getting wild in the street,
Wild in the city
Undercover of moonlight...
I should have known better
Than to let you go alone,
It's times like these
I can't make it on my own
Wasted days, and sleepless nights
And I can't wait to see you again
I find I spend my time
Waiting on your call,
How can I tell you, baby
My back's against the wall
I need you by my side
To tell me it's alright,
'Cos I don't think I can take anymore
Is this love that I'm feeling,
Is this the love, that I've been searching for
Is this love or am I dreaming,
This must be love,
'Cos it's really got a hold on me,
A hold on me...
I can't stop the feeling
I've been this way before
But, with you I've found the key
To open any door
I can feel my love for you
Growing stronger day by day,
An' I can't wait to see you again
So I can hold you in my arms
Is this love that I'm feeling,
Is this the love, that I've been searching for
Is this love or am I dreaming,
This must be love,
'Cos it's really got a hold on me,
A hold on me...
Is this love that I'm feeling,
Is this the love, that I've been searching for...
Is this love or am I dreaming,
Is this the love, that I've been searching for...
She left here last early spring, is livin' there, I hear
Say for me that I'm all right though things get kind of slow
She might think that I've forgotten her, don't tell her it isn't so.
We had a falling-out, like lovers often will
And to think of how she left that night, it still brings me a chill
And though our separation, it pierced me to the heart
She still lives inside of me, we've never been apart.
If you get close to her, kiss her once for me
I always have respected her for busting out and gettin' free
Oh, whatever makes her happy, I won't stand in the way
Though the bitter taste still lingers on from the night I tried to make her stay.
I see a lot of people as I make the rounds
And I hear her name here and there as I go from town to town
And I've never gotten used to it, I've just learned to turn it off
Either I'm too sensitive or else I'm gettin' soft.
Sundown, yellow moon, I replay the past
I know every scene by heart, they all went by so fast
If she's passin' back this way, I'm not that hard to find
Tell her she can look me up if she's got the time.
I was layin' in bed
Wond'rin' if she'd changed at all
If her hair was still red.
Her folks they said our lives together
Sure was gonna be rough
They never did like Mama's homemade dress
Papa's bankbook wasn't big enough.
And I was standin' on the side of the road
Rain fallin' on my shoes
Heading out for the East Coast
Lord knows I've paid some dues gettin' through,
Tangled up in blue.
She was married when we first met
Soon to be divorced
I helped her out of a jam, I guess,
But I used a little too much force.
We drove that car as far as we could
Abandoned it out West
Split up on a dark sad night
Both agreeing it was best.
She turned around to look at me
As I was walkin' away
I heard her say over my shoulder,
"We'll meet again someday on the avenue,"
Tangled up in blue.
I had a job in the great north woods
Working as a cook for a spell
But I never did like it all that much
And one day the ax just fell.
So I drifted down to New Orleans
Where I happened to be employed
Workin' for a while on a fishin' boat
Right outside of Delacroix.
But all the while I was alone
The past was close behind,
I seen a lot of women
But she never escaped my mind, and I just grew
Tangled up in blue.
She was workin' in a topless place
And I stopped in for a beer,
I just kept lookin' at the side of her face
In the spotlight so clear.
And later on as the crowd thinned out
I's just about to do the same,
She was standing there in back of my chair
Said to me, "Don't I know your name?"
I muttered somethin' underneath my breath,
She studied the lines on my face.
I must admit I felt a little uneasy
When she bent down to tie the laces of my shoe,
Tangled up in blue.
She lit a burner on the stove and offered me a pipe
"I thought you'd never say hello," she said
"You look like the silent type."
Then she opened up a book of poems
And handed it to me
Written by an Italian poet
From the thirteenth century.
And every one of them words rang true
And glowed like burnin' coal
Pourin' off of every page
Like it was written in my soul from me to you,
Tangled up in blue.
I lived with them on Montague Street
In a basement down the stairs,
There was music in the cafes at night
And revolution in the air.
Then he started into dealing with slaves
And something inside of him died.
She had to sell everything she owned
And froze up inside.
And when finally the bottom fell out
I became withdrawn,
The only thing I knew how to do
Was to keep on keepin' on like a bird that flew,
Tangled up in blue.
So now I'm goin' back again,
I got to get to her somehow.
All the people we used to know
They're an illusion to me now.
Some are mathematicians
Some are carpenter's wives.
Don't know how it all got started,
I don't know what they're doin' with their lives.
But me, I'm still on the road
Headin' for another joint
We always did feel the same,
We just saw it from a different point of view,
Tangled up in blue.
