It has an even larger audience then ever, stretching from three year olds to people beyond the age of 80! We play them for fun, enjoyment and to gain pleasure! One thing that touches me about this form of entertainment is that it makes my Grandad feel younger! That’s what they need right?
A new army of killer consoles are moving in on the scene, one by one making a bigger impact on the gaming world as time goes on! Classic game giants are making gaming better then ever and new giants are moving in to bring you the best in entertainment!
If you are a gamer at this time, be proud, not ashamed! Think were gaming is going, it could even overtake the film industry one day! Yes, games are getting that interactive!
One thing that makes me more happier then ever is that classic game characters are coming back to make the pleasure more immense. Isn’t it just great how we all can still play 8bit – 32bit games in a time when 128bit monster consoles are taking over! That’s what makes the industry great, it shows we love our games, we love our games characters and most of all we love the people that make our games, and our life so fulfilled with joy!
Ideas for games don’t seem to be dying, if anything they are expanding with technology and I feel happy that when I have children they will be playing the new Mario, relaxing and enjoying the same things I enjoyed when I was their age. That’s something gaming has that nothing else has, and the way things are now it seems that our favourite games will last for a long time yet! It would bring a tear to my eye to see my child enjoy his games the way I did, with the same character I did. That’s something, which has not happened in the past before.
And even when I die, and when my children’s children die, people can look back in their history books and say: “Wouldn’t you of just loved to be at the start of the gaming generation?”
I can proudly say, that we are, and us game players are part of history!
Enjoy and experience whilst you can ‘The Gaming Generation’
This is just the start of it all…
In the same vein, SNES fans liked Square for the same reason, and Square only defected to Sony when Nintendo announced late in the day that they were sticking with the cartridge format on the N64, which Square objected to because Nintendo didn't want to pick up the extra cost involved in producing the cartridge, this was left to the developers.
There is a good chance that Square will announce at E3 that it will develop for the X-Box, but we'll have to wait and see. Personally I hope they do, and feel that there is a 60% chance of them defecting from Sony this time.
Rare, on the other hand, have always remained loyal to Nintendo, an admiral trait, and are one of the most respected development companies in the industry, winning accolades from their peers left right and centre, particularly for GoldenEye, hailed as 'the best video game of all time' by the industry, gamers and developers alike.
I do not hold any hope whatsoever of Rare defecting to any other console manufacturer. They seem to be very happy with Nintendo at present, and always have been. Rare defecting to Microsoft would be the equivalent of the Queen defecting to Germany. The chances of either of these events happening is....'rare'.

> I meant Square and RARE just like SOny and Nintendo have.

According to Nikkei Computer, a Japanese news service, Square is currently working on a Final Fantasy title for the Xbox -- and has been since the initial release of the development kits this summer. While this news is enough to get any Square fan bent into new shapes of fanboyism, the information is also shrouded in enough mystery to keep this from being the big announcement that Xbox fans have been craving since rumors of Square's association with Microsoft swelled during the recent Tokyo Game Show.
The Nikkei news story confirms that Square is creating a Final Fantasy title for the Xbox. While this doesn't mean that Square is stopping production on any of its PS2 Final Fantasy titles, it does imply that some of the future titles may become multi-platform, which is exactly what Nikkei speculates in its story. According to Nikkei's insiders within Square, all arrows point to Final Fantasy XI, the online RPG FF adventure slated for release next summer, as the game being created for the Xbox. This also means that Square's PlayOnline online gaming service would work for both platforms, implying that PS2 gamers would be able to meet up with Xbox gamers online in the game.
Nikkei could not get confirmation from either Microsoft Japan, or Square Japan on the story. Square of America declined to comment on development of Final Fantasy XI for the Xbox, and would only respond that "no official announcements have been made by Square regarding 3rd party development for Microsoft's Xbox."
