Please don’t give me to much abuse for this idea :-)

I think that everything to do with gaming should be advertised more than what it is now days. There was one stage where gaming was thought “not cool” by people, but I think it has come more, and more liked over the years. We do have adverts for games and consoles sometimes, but I just don’t think that it’s enough. There will be some people who are just casual gamers and who don’t read reviews for games etc., so if they see a telly advert for a game that has rolling footage I think it could help persuade the person to buy the game. As for us hard core gamers, I think it will do us good to see a game that we know good, being shown to the world (well, the UK then).

I still think that gaming could be so much more popular with a few more adverts etc., and the thing that I would love to happen is to make computer gaming a sport (if that’s possible. Think about it, how cool would it be to have like leagues for gamers who enter the competition. I know there are some competitions like Tekken tag Tournament and games like that for people who are lucky enough to be given the chance to be able to play in them, but I think their should be much more for the people like me who would absolutely love to enter something like this. I think the leagues would be very popular to. When I say leagues, I’m thinking along the lines of football league where you have top division, 1’st 2’nd 3’rd and so on.

Maybe this league could have a television show to support it and the battles or races could be shown to everyone sitting at home. I may be just fantasising too much, but I just can’t help but to think just how good this could be. People get excited with things like gameaday but think how people would react to tournaments where you compete with people your own age from all over the country. Maybe, if it does happen, we could think about getting involved in teams of gamers.

What I mean by this is instead of having a Liverpool football team you could have a Fantasy united gaming team, or whatever you decide your name to be.

Age is another thing I have considered. The ages could go something like 5 to 9, 10 to 14, 15 to 18 then 18+ go all together. There, all the ages are fairly evened out so it won’t be an unfair game. It wouldn’t be very sensible if a 5 year old was to battle against a 20 year old, the 5 year old could win and the 20 year old will be humiliated :-)

Obviously I have just given some very basic ideas and if my dream was to come true, their would have to be a lot of hard work to put into it to make it successful. So, more advertising, more computer game shows on the TV, and make gaming a sport of the future and give anyone and everyone a chance to enter would make me a very happy bunny! I know that there will be people having a little chuckle to my crazy ideas, but maybe, just one day this fantasy could be a reality. And this may well be the future of gaming.

That’s just my thoughts on the future, please go easy on me, I haven’t been around that long. Still, it is the future of gaming forum, so no one really knows what crazy, demented things could occur in the future!

Thanks for reading,

Mario64.

You are, as always, very correct meka_dragon.

PSX has nothing to compare to Mario64.

If you class Mario64 as a platformer, then, IN MY OPINION, I would say that games such as Crash Bandicoot and maybe Spyro The Dragon have matched up to it.

All of the Crash games are superb, and they all have brilliant gameplay and graphics.

Although, I can't really judge, as I never liked Mario games myself.
Mario Karts was good, but when I played a Mario game for the first time I didn't really like the characters, and Mario's just never really been my type of character.

I'd have Crash anyday in front of Mario, but that's probably cos I like the style of play induced in Crash games more than in Mario. And the characters, of course.

Anyway, remember, that's just my opinion.

why not??? So, you're saying if Goldeneye hadn't been made, then MGS wouldn't of been made???

Hmmmmmmmmmm........

Also, MGS did another thing, it made it's own plot (a superb one as well), and didn't just take it from a movie.

THE N64 HAS THE BEST CHOICE OF RACING GAMES?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? LOL!!!!!!!

Ever played Gran Turismo 2, er-no? With over 600 cars, masses of tracks and races, superb multiplayer, great graphics and awesome gameplay, I would say GT2 is definitely the best racing game out there.

er-no, stop talking like this, as you know gaming is popular now thanks to the PSX, and you know that the N64 doesn't have enough good games, and you know that the N64 games cost way too much, you're just not willing to admit it.

*Ant laughs out loud again at er-no's comment, and then gets more sugar to calm him down*

Only a few good games on PSX?? er-no, you are talking the biggest load of b******t I've ever heard. FM listed a load of good ones, and I could list a load more. Also, I think there are a FEW more good games than there are on N64. And at least they don't cost £50 either.

Oh yeah, you think Goldeneye is superior to MGS?? Well, lets see. The plot is a lot better (Goldeneye's was just taken from a movie!), the grpaihcs are a bit better, the stealth idea is amazing, it's additive, and Goldeneye gets boring just going round shooting people. MGS is more intense and exciting.

MGS has a lot more ideas, and is overall the better game.

OK, I've played both and completed both.

If I only owned those two games, and had to toss one in the fire, GoldenEye would fry, simply because I feel MGS is a superior game, in terms of gameplay, graphics, sound quality, originality, plot, and enjoyment.

The statement is neither wrong nor right, it is simply opinion based on experience.

Thanks Wookiee, that's a great way of putting it.
And I concur with every sentence in both your posts, except for the C&C on PC, I tried it, and my PC can't hack it, so I prefer it on the PSX. (But that's just my PC, not the game's fault).

The point I was just trying to prove, and it did quite nicely, is that whenever I take a stab at Nintendo, I get flamed by Ninty fans. I love a good flame now and again, and so just to keep things ticking over from time to time I'll take a poke at Nintendo product, and watch the post go up in flames.

It's a bad habit, and I'm trying to quit it, but I just love winding Ninty fans up.

P.S. I don't see how MGS and Goldeneye can be compared - two very different styles of game.

P.P.S. If you want the best C&C, get the PC version - much clearer, more detail, and so much easier to play with a mouse! :-)
