De La Rosa off to a flying start

Pedro De La Rosa has taken pole position for the Australian Grand Prix. He took his 4th career pole position by just edging out Kimi Raikkonen by a miniscule amount of time.

In what has become a trademark of SR F1 qualifying sessions, barely anything separates the pack with all drivers being within half a second of pole position.

Last years pole sitter, Coulthard, could only manage 19th on the grid. Last years race winner, Fisichella, is in with a shout for points in 10th place. The World Champion, Firman has his work cut out straight away in the new season as he qualified in a lowly 18th.
