hi if there are any well established web designers out there, i could use ur help. I am thinking of a carreer in web design and am about to sign up to a course with UKIT in tolworth. The cost of the course is £2550. Do you think this cost sounds about right for a professional qualification? Becoming an CIW webmaster. And is the current demand for web designers high or not really needed? thanks for your replies. mr mix

You can easily teach yourself what the course tells you. The only thing you won't get is the qualification but if you build an example site that shows your skills you can use that.
Web design won't be very profitable in the future, there's too much competition arising. People with just a copy of Frontpage think that they can make proper sites now.
I can see it being a nice little earner for your free time but you're not going to make much going into it full time, just far too many people...
Plus you need to be able to spell to make sites or they just won't work.
