I say XBOX wins hands down, it is a far superior machine to all that is availaible and when XBOX 2 is released it will push it so high that no other console will touch it.

I'm guessing KOTOR but Morrowind also does the console favours, and Deus Ex will defy classification and end up in RPG and FPS genres no doubt.
Although F-Zero's pretty good.
Most Sega games don't appeal to me though. Although there is Headhunter: redemption which looks like it might be good.
My problem with Sega is the time I spent trying to find a good game on the DC. Ready to Rumble? Crap. Unreal Tournament? Too short. Quake III Arena? Too short. Incoming? Trash. Star Wars: EP1 racer? Poor. Soul Fighter? Poor. Virtua Athlete? VERY POOR.
Most of the games I've playedon the DC have either been dull, too arcadey and/or too short.
Most of the games should've stayed in the arcade where you fork out 20p for a go rather than 30/40 quid.
All the games with longevity came far too late.
(Oh, by the way, what's the Special Observe url?)

This is Hedfix's only real flaw: he underrates Sega, the best developers ever ever ever.
The PS and PS2 controller is an abomination. It really is. I get sore hands playing on it for any length of time. Perhaps it is just me having big hands, but hey I'd rather have that than not.
The best controller in my experience is indeed the Xbox one. The original at that. It fits size wise perfectly, it has the analogue triggers which are superior to the GC ones and it has an intuitive layout with the best placed analogue sticks ever.
My PS2 has absolutely no use whatsoever now. It has been totally eclipsed in all areas. DVD playback and graphics are inferior to the Xbox, graphics are worse than the GC. Hell in some games they are worse than the DC! Despite having 33 times the power (allegedly)! Just look at DOA2 if you don't believe me.
Games wise... best racer is on the Xbox. Best FPS is on the Xbox. Best RPG is on the Xbox. Best adventure game is on the GC. Best platformer is on Xbox.
PS2 no longer has what it takes.

How about about a poor excuse for a d-pad that has you going diagonally left/right when you're trying to go forward? Why have nintendo and microsoft decided to move the left ananlogue stick up higher? Because it's better that's why. The analogue sticks make a horrible clicking noise. I thikn the main problem with the PS2 controller is that it's all TOO SMALL, even Nintendo have made the buttons bigger on their pad.

I own it.

Arcadey, trick pulling guff if you ask me. Mind you I find a lot of Sega games quickly become tiresome. Admittedly as an arcade title it's good it's just that arcade gaming grows old quickly.

To launch with a decent arcade game. Despite how tiresome they get.
>
> Also, I think we both know which console has the best games.
Well it's blatantly either the Xbox or the GC. Generally anything reasonable from the PS2 gets stolen and improved upon. Although usually having a decnnt controller to play it on usually is all that's needed.

How DARE you blame the sacred controler! That controller is the best ever. Seriously. Unlike the GC the analog sticks are easy on the thumbs, and glide acros the er... Controller analog stick base thingy :P. The GC's is nasty plastic. Hardly easy to move, and worse gets slippery after a few hours of TimeSplitters 2. That's not a good thing.
Also, calling JSR, and I quote "...throw away arcade gaming." is pointless. Have you played it? It kickstarted Cel Shaded graphics, and look who noticed, one of the biggest game names in the world, Nintendo, and look at Zelda now. (Though I question that. Zelda was best in 3D.) JSR was brilliant. Fun, innovative, compelling... Everything. It even had a good soundtrack.

Also, I think we both know which console has the best games.

Thought about it: you're wrong.

Oh yay a sports game and some throw away arcade gaming. Not exactly a strong argument. :P
On a DVD note, I believe the PS2 has poor quality and if you upgrade the wire the picture goes green.

Then why do verious games look much better on GC and Xbox then?

BIG understatement.

No for sheer laziness the PS2 wins. I'd rather play some games with a next-gen controller rather than a controller that's still half out of the SNES era.
If you own a GC and Xbox there's little need for a PS2.
> Dreamcast wins hands down has better specs better games.
Yay, a DC fan!
But, unfortunatly the DC doesn't have better specs. Unfortunatly. They come close the the PS2 / XBox / GC generation, but weren't quite there - they should have been pionered as the next generation, maybe they would have shifted a few more consoles.
As for games, it has better games than the Xbox, and perhaps the GC, but on games, the PS2 wins hands down. Think about it.
Also, apart from JSR, all the best DC games are on the PS2, like Virtua Tennis 2 and Crazy Taxi. (But my favourite was always JSR, but I'm not buying into Microsoft anymore, they own enough of my room.)
If the DC had DVD then it would have been a much bigger success. Which is a pity really, considering the technology SEGA were building it with. Actually, on DVD support, the PS2 is far better than the GC and the XBox, as the XBox needs additional hardware, and the GC doesn't even play them. With the PS2, you get DVD right out of the box.
Umm... For now, I guess the PS2 wins. It's got pretty much the same specs as the XBox and GC, perhaps slightly worse graphics, but consoles are designed to play games, and on that the PS2 wins hands down.
Besr overall console for power, play and performance.
