Erm....I need a little help with some Electronics coursework.

Does anyone know how to make a device that times for Y amount of time then makes the buzzer sound off after that time for about 5 seconds. The only Chip I'm allowed to use is a 555 timer. Any help is appreciated.

It doesn't work.
Just let this topic sink, I'll ask my teacher on Monday.

Then you will need a capacitor and resistor in a potential devider. Using R * C to work out the time it takes before it turns on.

No chips involved.

You want a 555 monostable circuit.

Work out the time period using 1.1 * R * C (R being the resistor ohmage and C being the capacitors farods)

If you want it to repeat this, try an astable.
