"Kelis = Dirty Skank, babe in Speedway = Oo-er"

It's utter pants, I was flicking through the channels when I decided to check the music channels to see if Speedway: Can't Turn Back would be on. Well it wasn't but they were doing a top 10 chart run down on The Box. I decided to watch it and I died a little bit inside. It was shockingly bad! The cha cha slide was at number 1, Toxic at number 2, Kelis was 3 or 4 I can't remember what one Phixx was and Speedway was nowhere to be found. I don't like any of speedways other songs but I definitely think it is better than that skank Kelis and her little song about how dirty old men come to her decrepid bar. Grrr I lost faith in all the 12 year old girls out there that make up the charts after that. Oh well...

Trick Me by Kelis is excellent. I'm listening to it now on a hardcore, underground internet radio station - so it must be good. It's like a rocksteady beat but with the potential for a scantily clad babe in the video.

Heh, I just downloaded it and it's pretty run of the mill stuff. She writhes about a bit and wears an outfit that is a bit skimpy. No worse than Britney's new video, or most of her old ones; no worse than Beyonce. To be honest you see the same sort of outfits in clubs and the same sort of dancing (the bits where they're standing up at any rate) and I don't think those girls are acting like prostitutes.

Yeh I get your point just I prefer to get up and dance when in it's christmas especially to that years number one but when that comes on everyone just sort of sits there quietly. It kills all conversation and everything. It's just not a good christmas number one in my opinion. Any other time of the year, yes I would be wanting it to get to number one but Christmas was a no no for me. Oh well, done now, can't change the past and all that.

This is in no way getting at you (I'm not in the mood today. My Java j2me midp2.0 robotron clone is coming along fantastically)

but being festive does not automatically mean it should get to number one. I don't like the darkness to start with but that release was even worse than their usual tripe (IMHO)

Still, Mad World was a break from the usual, and I wonder if we 'll be hearing it in years to come (here it is merry christmas etc etc etc)
