Labs are a compulsory class in Uni and i decided halfway through mine today to just get up and walk out. I've been feeling like crap for the last while, even more so the last couple of days, and something just snapped in me today in Uni that made me feel I'd had enough of it.

God, life stinks lately.

Certainly, in fact I've found it the best way to get high gradings on essays - challenge the question and the view in the lecture but always have evidence or a theory. What I meant was that doing things like shouting "you're wrong" and walking out is stupid, as is throwing insults at them. End of the day they've got tenure and you're a student.

well, whilst it's hard to say for definite, I think you'd be better off ensuring the lecturers for your own sake, whatever it is might be embarassing to you or something you want to keep private but explaining with your head of department is probably best.

I realise that this depends a lot on what kind of people the lecturers are where you are, the ones for my subject are great and pretty understanding about anything. I had to sort one thing out with them myself and my friend has. He got chucked out of his accomadation for not paying the rent, caused by his lack of money and another personal thing, after a massive spending spree, and our head of year sorted him out university accomodation, a loan of some sort etc. Mine wasn't quite on that scale, I just wanted a week off for something.

Definetly agree with you Bell, never insult them, but do challenge them if you think you are right, but do have evidence to back it up. Chances are they will respect you if you challenge them and present your arguement well.

Of course the only problem with being insulting to staff is you never know if you'll need a reference/essay extension/etc ... some kinds of lecturers are evil enough to remember every little slight a person has done against them for later in years.

I've skipped stuff, but never actually annoyed/insulted people because it's just stupid.

I didnt want them to know in the beginning, so a couple of them know on a need-to-know basis kind of thing.

And you're right Bell, sod the other students, its none of their business anyways.

Can't you talk to your head of department and make sure that he/she ensures that your tutors know about any condition you have? At least that way it won't annoy the lecturers/tutors.

But bluntly, s*d the other students. I'm sure you'll have told your friends, and as long as they know then nobody else even matters - odds are that once you graduate you'll never see a majority of them again and they won't give you a moments thought either, so don't let them get you down.
