I mentioned that my ex has just finished doing it, wondered if any of you guys have done it? I'm not sure how they do it and how you get called up for it but it seems like some people get it a lot. I guess it depends where you live.

Apparently you get paid little, lots of waiting around and it's kinda boring. Still I'd like to experience doing one, maybe something exciting like a murder case.

Q1. What was Homers answer to getting out of jury duty?

Would be nice to, some people said they wanted to have a go. Probably not one so easy as mine where almost everyone got all the Qs right :)

That's a shame about your friend :( Maybe it wont be good to have a murder case after all.

And well done Smedlos you got the right answer :) cheers to Borat and Jason for reminding me of that episode though, heh it was funny.

I'm not allowed to do it until at least May 2008 as I left a legal job in May 2003 and you can't do it for 5 years after you leave as there is a chance the case you get called up to is one you've worked on in the past and therefore you can't be impartial and unbiased.

You get paid by the company you work for plus you get expenses (travelling for example) and a free lunch. I know someone who did an attempted murder and arson case and it still upsets her to think about it :(

Not done it myself. Dont think i would want to really!

My mum was sent a letter for it but she never did it as my dad had just died and she had 3 kids to be with.

Then my stepdad he has done it. He loved it lol but i cant say i would want to be involved in anything like that. Id try my best to get out of it but apparantly you need a damn good excuse not to do it.

Not sure about Homer's excuse, although I did know he wore glasses with eyes painted on them whilst he slept. Then he went and went against everybody's wishes and the case was adjourned - they got to stay in a 5 star hotel and watch Free Willy.

Was that the episode?

I actually wouldn't mind jury service.

Dunno but I remember an episode when he did it and he had those glasses with the drawn on eyes ...

Still makes me chuckle ...
