Last night, driving home, one monkey overtook me at about 70 - 80 (in a 60 zone, I was at 50, the same speed as the car ahead), while a car was coming the other way, and only got through because the road was just wide enough to squeeze 3 cars across it's width.

Then, I was going into a roundabout, when the car behind me tried to overtake. (S)He realised there was no fricking way through that gap, fortunately I'd seen him and pulled to the side as he broke. Just about got away with it :^S

There are utter mongs on the road. People should have to re-take their tests periodically, and there should be much harder penalties for driving irresponsibly.

Heh I can associate with some of this:
I was walking home one day from school and I felt a bit down that day.
Anyway i was crossing a Zebra crossing where the cars are supposed to STOP to let people cross so i crossed the first zebra crossing onto the island, then I looked looked right and left and waited for this car to move.
It didn't so i started to walk across with my head down as though it was okay to cross. But NO it wasn't the car started to tilt towards me.. and the man in the car used his brakes in time but smashed the back of his car into another car, well in the mood i was in i couldn't be bothered to notice it till the guy parked and ran after me to tell me 'I almost killed you there'

Your life can flash before your eyes as it were, if you actually are close to death.

So let me get this right: you nearly died because you were ALMOST in an accident? Wouldn't you have nearly died if you had been injured in an actual crash as opposed to an almost crash?

I've been in a few crashes. Does that mean that I was even more nearly dead than you? I've also been under fire, what about that?

ANYWAY, back to the original post.

Me, Mum and Me Bro were actually close to quite a beastly crash once.

3-way junction, we're going 30mph, the car on the other lane is approaching us at 30mph also (at a guess).

Approaching the point where the junction branches off, a black car also comes up to the junction, so now there's three cars coming in three directions.

Lo and behold, the black car fails to stop where it should, and comes about 1 and a half metres forward into our lane.

With under a second until we'd hit it, Mum swerved the car into the opposite lane, BARELY missing the car that was passing by, mentioned earlier.

If we had hit the black car, it would have caused a three-car collision, as most likely the car passing by when the moment happened would have been clipped.

Take all that into consideration whilst driving a fairly old BMW that we had at the time, and it might have been rather nasty.
