Kid up road passed and has a 1.2 newer ford fiesta zeetec (when I say new i mean it isnt falling apart at seams like my dear car will be) His insurance was paid for by his parents and was 1100 i think - but he taking pass plus coz after looking around it knock off a damn sight more. I didnt ask how much

If you can, go on your parents insurance. You're not building a no claims discount but you are saving money anyway and the older you get the less it will cost when you have to your own insurance by your self. At £18 I was paying around £900 - at 19 it dropped to around £800 - 20 to about £600 - 21 - £450 - now I'm just a bit over £300 and when I renew this year it will be around £200-250.

KNowing what to do is difficult. My dad will help out here and there he paying for tests but I not having a car bought or insurance paid for (which i wouldnt want anyway)

I looking too at the moment. It bloody hard knowing which way to turn. I wouldnt wanna sort it online. The quotes over the phone are generally better anyway.

a) You ring the insurer instead of sorting it out online.
b) You can pay the entire amount straight away.
But for a kid thats insurance was 1000 or so but ended up only being 800...
You do not pay 200 for pass plus!
PLus if you do have a year non claim bonus - before you start when you get the next lot it does help.
Been looking around and lots and lots of insurers do it now. NOt just the expensive ones either belldandy...
I think it is worth having a look into
