But now we seem to buy DVDs all the time, collectively we have just under 200 DVDs now and we buy atleast 1 DVD a week as a family. (we used to rent a lot but we dont anymore and the nearest cinema is 30 minutes drive away). I guess it is good news for the television and film industries. Anyone else noticed that they're buying more DVDs than they did VHS?
My recent DVD purchase was Donnie Darko Prism Edition. At a very nice price of £4.99 to encourage those who wouldnt have bought the film otherwise, despite having no special features. It's a very interesting and unusual film nothing like I've seen before.
I also pre-ordered a DVD boxset. Most of you are too young and would probably confuse it with the awful Matt LeBanc movie that came out years ago. It's the Lost In Space Series 1 boxset. 8 DVDs, 31 episodes, a collective running time of 23 hours and 42 minutes (possible marathon attempt?) At a nice price of £39.99 "DANGER! DANGER WILL ROBINSON!!"
Anyone else buy anything on DVD lately?

Don't you have to pay for things like food and electricity? You must have a pretty good paying job.

I have a job. Duh
And Fcuk off tnc
I admit it's early this year but whilst things aren't inflated for Christamas and I have a little supply of cash in the house I'd be as well to use it on them.
And this year there's the pressure of Mocks and revising, which may mean that I don't get the time to. Plus, if I go out at the last minute I don't get things. I've just had inspiration at the minute and as I can buy them off eBay and the shops cheaply at the moment it's worth it.
Anything I order through mail even a few weeks before xmas, MAKES SURE that it arrives on the 27th at the earliest.
I've just ordered Steptoe and Son : Series One for my xmas, as a present for my dad and I'm bidding on Yes Minister for my mum.
We're not (I mean they're not) people who watch them that much but when the series is classic and isn't shown anymore they're happy to own the DVD. My mum's attitude still remains 'we can rent them again', no matter how many times I say buying is cheaper.
King Kong (1933) Ltd Tin edition
Wizard of Oz - 3 disc edition
Charmed season 3 (for my mum tsk)
Rescue Rangers season 1 (class)
But, if you liked it, I'd recommend the infinitely better and without a hint of that Hollywood feel, is The Bounty. Granted it's old and therefore the SFX aren't boot-polish shiny but they're still adequate and the film is somehow superior.
