If anyone here likes the TV series robot wars, you’re in for a treat!
I heard that robot wars is on the way to the PS2. Personally I think this game could be big, really big.

My prediction of the game will go something like this… You will be given a budget of £100,000 and this will go towards making your battling robot! So, the main bit of the game will be designing and making your robot with your £100,00 budget. This is not all the money you will get however, because once you have made your robot, you will have to send it into a spectacular 3D arena. Here, you will compete with 30 other robots, and you will all have ONE thing in common, that is you all want to come first in the tournament

If you manage to get first place you will be rewarded £10,000,000! You can now repair your robot for the second round! You will have to add new weapons to your robot, and make it even better than before because the remaining robots in round two will be much better and much more deadly.

That is just my idea for the game. Do any of you have any more ideas or any news on the game? I am really looking forward to the game because if “The beeb” really put their minds to it, I think they could get a fantastic result.

If all goes to plan, expect to see the game on Playstation2 by next year!

Thanks for reading.

It already came out on the Gameboy, so there is at least a chance that it could come out onto the PS2, of course with the bang up-to-date Graphical power that the machine has to offer!!!

I don't like Robot Wars that much - it might have something to do with that I'm spoiled with big Hollywood CGI action and not half lawnmower - half plastic buckets hitting each other with pointy sticks.

If they do it right, and add impressive weapons, it could be big!

hahahaha, you know what I mean, the package can fit through the letter box, and if it can't they'll just leave it there I suppose...

Yeah it will be very lively with Johny as a commontater and thats what the game needs. When in "design" mode you will need to have a soft, soothing song playing very quietly in the distance but once you come to "battle" mode their should be lots of noise going on. The noise should come from John and most importantly from sound effects for the robots.

im scared to think what sort of weapons i can buy with a budget of 10 million. a bit more than a stick with a spike on it. ;-) .. good idea to add a strategy/management aspect to it though. i hope the can get commentary from Jonothan Pierce aswell.
