I watch the channel "Men and Motors" Not just for the nightly dose of porn but for the cars and bikes too.
I like to watch this bike program where they all have the same kind of bikes and they travel on them accross the country, all day.
It looks great, i am considering getting a bike when i am older.
That said, I would definitely have a bike if I could. My dad owned a Ducati Panta 500 many years ago and it was great fun to pillion on. Then he got a Moto Guzzi V50 which was equally great.
My brother used to take me out on his Kawasaki Z650 often and now he's got Yahama YZF, 750 I think.
A mate had an RF600 (can't remember what make that one was!) and then a YZF with a custom paint job ("Rhubarb and Custard") and another mate scared the crap out of me by racing an Escort Cosworth whilst I was clinging to him on his Kawasaki ZZR1100.
The last bike I actually went on was Suzuki GSX250 - my mate would sit up, let go of the handle bars and let me steer the bike by leaning ... only on empty roads, gentle bends and downhill!

I was just trying to be cool.
Cars are more dangerous to other people simply due to the size/weight difference to a bike.
However, most bikes can travel much quicker than most cars and I have seen some *serious* damaged caused by bikes hitting cars.
Plus, cars can carry more stuff and more people.

COMPLETELY INCORRECT!
Think about it. If a bike crashes, then it is nearly always the biker that gets hurt, no-one else, therefore the biker has taken his actions into his own hands. However, if you decide to go fast in a car, loose control, not only do you probably kill everything in your path (including completely innocent people) but you will no doubt survive it with not a scratch on you. Your car may be scratched.......but not you.
So there you have it, cars are selfish, because you cannot just look out for yourself.
Also, car drivers that have never been on a bike are so BLIND sometimes it is unbelievable. They just look out for cars and nothing else.
