I've just bought a Marshall amp head and some cabs to do gigs with. They're great, but i really need to get a case for the head and I can't seem to find one anywhere. Does anyone know where I could buy one from? Cheers.

Mm tis only overdrive, frustrating thing. I'll see what comments are on it when it comes back this time, the shop sent it off with a big "THIS IS THE THIRD SODDING TIME!" note stuck to it, I think they're just as sick of seeing me as I am of going in ;)

is it only on overdrive??
if it does it on clean as well then a dodgy jack connection is prolly to blame...

i'm pretty lucky with the one i use, i keep blowing the fuses in the back but for 7p a time i should be ok...
it really is hard to rock this much... hmmmmmmm :)

If it is a solid state then it might be a damaged PCB.

Solid state, that's what threw me...could be a rogue tube in a stage in it somewhere, but none that I'm aware of, certainly nothing accessible. But, yes, I'd assume Marshall techs would check the simpler problems like that first =)

What have they replaced in it? I take it the tubes were the first things they checked?

Nah it's been faulty since about 8 months after I got it, it's hardly ever left the house as I use school ones to play up there. Not my fault, honest :D

Popping, crackling and hissing sounds when it's on overdrive, tried with assorted guitars and leads - it even does it with nothing plugged in sometimes. They've replaced a different part each time, and it's always developed the same problem within minutes of getting it back here..

Just very glad that Marks Music in Cambrudge give me a loan amp while it's off being looked at, don't fancy 3 weeks playing through a tinny Fender Frontman..

What have you been doing to it?! Mine is rock solid. Despite a minor accident where I tried to carry it whilst going down an escalator. It was impossible. I picked it up at the bottom.

It still works fine.

Absolutely. Except mine, which is currently off being repaired for the third time :D

That's not from transporting it about though, never even gigged with it, but he's right, they can generally take a battering.

if it's any consolation, Marshall make VERY durable amps, so don't worry if you can't protect it immediately.
